Apparently Cyborg's lack of genitalia is a problem to some people. Some even stated that the only reason he was allowed blonde Sarah (I think Simms, not Charles) was because he was technologically "castrated" and thus not a threat. Really? Is this really a thing or are people just going looking for the racist boogie man?

Think thats... really, really, dumb. But it does sound like something racists would come up with to rationalize how a white blond girl could be with a black man.

Also it's pretty stupid to begin with since I don't recall Sarah actually being much of a love interest for Victor in the original run, she was one of his closest friends and one of the first/few people that looked past all of his prosthetics.
Aside all that, considering Silas wanted to right for his, often neglected and misunderstood, son... I dont think he would just omit that particular instrument. And to that... Vic had to rebuild himself half a dozen times, so even if Silas didn't, Vic's smart enough to do it himself.

FWIW, I think his original 1980's origin did not include damage to those areas. He went through that point where he was pretty much all-tech, and then there was a clone body involved and things got a little muddled, but it could be argued that he either always had one or was so far gone from humanity that he didn't care.

There was one later scene that had his head separated from the rest of his body, but I think his body (including physical bits) was still around, it's just that his head didn't depend on it.

It wasn't until the New52 origin, as far as I know, that the level of initial damage included that area.

I think people would read more into it because he's the only black hero on the JL so it would lead into "unfortunate implications". Art has meaning just not always the ones you intend.
