Bleeding Cool: Batman/Flash crossover plotted by Geoff Johns

Per Bleeding Cool, Tom King tweets the following news...

And Geoff Johns' plot involves bringing back Flashpoint Batman Thomas Wayne...

I wonder who else from Flashpoint may be returning?

Is it just me or does anyone else think they're gonna be reversing at least some of Flashpoint?

I don't know anyone who is going to have a problem with that if that is the case, LOL.

    Right??

    Really, though...
What else were they going to do with that dangling plot line of 'the letter'?
It was just sitting there waiting...

Wow! I'm even more excited for this now! I've always thought they should do something with Thomas Wayne Batman!
    And then there were none...

Revisiting Flashpoint was definitely always in the cards here. For starters, Pandora's fate, and her involvement in the "changes" is already hinted to be massively important to how this all plays out. Plus there's the important roles the Flashpoint timeline characters played in Convergence, but mainly, there was just always the Thomas Wayne Letter and Barry and Bruce's stuff from the end of the actual Flashpoint series.

But Martha isn't supposed to be dead in the Flashpoint timeline. She was the Joker.

I love this idea of having Geoff Johns write the plots and then DC has the writers do the final scripting. It's an ingenuous solution. I hope that formula continues for the duration of Rebirth.

I think this is also the case with Superman Reborn.

Would be cool if this results in Barry's mother being alive. That was a terrible retcon and one that has followed every adaption since. Not every superhero should be motivated by tragedy.

    I agree.
The prerequisite for being a superhero shouldn't be 'their parents (or relatives) were killed by a criminal '.

What about the heroes that stumble upon a new invention or an ancient artifact and decide to be a hero because it would be fun or exciting?

Works for me, I'd love to see some hope and optimism come back into comics!

I want to see Bruce Batman meet Thomas Batman. The emotional response would be CRAZY for fans.
