TOP 10 Most Intelligent Marvel Heroes according to Marvel

I think certain writiers deciding to give their characters exact numbers is how these lists really came about. Cho kept calling himself the 6th smartest or something like that. I believe T"Challa called himself the 8th smartest in his book, and the Moon Girl made it a point to clarify that she was the smartest. Of course some of the numbers had to change as new smart people were developed... but I think that was sort of the starting point to creating definitive rankings. Once a writer decides this character is number 6, it automatically gets everyone wondering who are the other numbers.













Same thing sort of happened in DC. I think Mr. Terrific labeled himself the third smartest, and DC editorial later chimmed in that Bruce and Lex were 2 and 1.

I always thought it was Lex, Atom, then terrific. well if I thought about it at all.

She still has 616 Shuri’s backstory, as the Shuri #1 previews have shown.

Only in the MCU has it been declared that she is the smartest. Nowhere in the comics has been state that she is in the top 10, let alone number 1.

That has always annoyed me, why is it that only people who are good at building tech are considered when world's smartest people discussions come up? There should be more to intelligence than "Can build time machine." After all there's more to who's "the most powerful character" than who can lift the most. Hulk might be as physically strong as people like Thor, Silver Surfer and Superman but since he doesn't have the flight and energy projection they do he's not considered as powerful overall as they are.

Me personally I like when they show who the top ten smartest heroes or characters are and to me it does bring up interesting conversations and debates. Although I 100% agree with you about Dr. Strange. I think he is severely underrated when it comes to intelligence.

Yes I agree it is a nice discussion point

I've pointed out I think reed is the smartest scientist, because of his multiple disciplines, I think luna is likely the best problem solver, panther the best tactician, and so forth, there are many aspects of intelligence that the list does not cover I suspect, but as the idea of being able to work things out on minimal data, it's imo pretty good

I would definitely put strange as perhaps the most learned individual and much underrated in intelligence

Nadia would be on this now imo, kitty should be, as should adam brashir

He's absolutely listed way too low on this list. I'd go out on a limb and name him the smartest there is.

Pym has invented some pretty impressive stuff. He just isn't as popular.

Prior to Slotts Mighty Avengers I might not have put Hank too high on the top 10. But his feats in that book were Dr. Who level. Stark housed the Avengers in a mansion, but Pym supplied an Infinity Mansion. Stark supplied Quinjets, but Pym supplied magical teleporting doors. I think that one run did a lot to justify Pym's standing.

As far as T'Challa goes.... I think the thing which sort of gurantees him getting a somewhat lower spot in the top 10 is T'Challa labeling himself the 8 smartest person in the world in Liss BP run. That put him somewhat low on the list as it was. Moon Girl debuting as THE smartest pushed everyone down one step further.

But it's imporant to remember that anyone in the top 10 list is super high. Whether you're ranked number 2 or number 8, that's still pretty high when you consider there's like 7 billion people on the planet.
