Ms Moore is best known for turning this Wilma Burgess song into a big soul hit, big enough to save the Malaco label from bankruptcy back in 73:

We started out with a couple of plaintive Hank Williams tunes, so here's an up-tempo one instead: "Hey Good Lookin'"

Is this uptempo enough for you? Leroy Van Dyke sings "The Auctioneer Song", which had been a hit for him in 1956

This isn't really "classic" (it's from 1995), but the previous video makes me want to post John Michael Montgomery's own auction song, "Sold"

I was shocked recently to hear Jack Jones' version of this song and that it was actually a pop hit (which the Possum's wasn't). Needless to say, George's is far superior.

It's time for another drinking song. Here's Ernest Tubb with "Just A Drink Away". A great example of old-time Texas honky-tonk music!

And a fun drinking song this time, from Roger Miller.

Oh heck, let's have some more Ernest Tubb. Here's one of his biggest hits, "Waltz Across Texas".
