Liefeld decided to 'poke the bear' - and the bear poked back. After his performance in 'Man of Steel', I could see Crowe pulling this off.

Deadpool 2: Russell Crowe Interested in Playing Cable?

I'm even more excited Russell Crowe then inserted Ryan Reynolds into the exchange. Like he wanted him to know there was interest.

The problem is Crowes weight, it fluctuates so much from movie to movie. Iono if he gains weight for movies or if hes just a big guy now and loses weight now and then. But his fluctuations are crazy. If he got in.shape not great shape but decent)im all for it him and shannon acted circles around everyone in man of steel,

Never considered him but he could be great. I liked him in the Equalizer and im pretty sure Starnger Things has upped his value. Plus hes a little taller then reynolds and naturally bulkier. Give him some big combat boots with some lifts and he will definetly have the size.

Deadpool 2: Janelle Monae Rumored To Be Frontrunner For Domino

It looks like there’s a new leader in the casting search for Deadpool 2’s Domino. The names of many actresses have been mentioned in conjunction with the search for Domino, the mutant with probability controlling powers usually described as “good luck.” MacKenzie Davis was among the first, but Scandal star Kerry Washington was the latest actress considered to be leading the casting race.

That seems to no longer be the case. Singer/songwriter turned actress Janelle Monáe is now rumored to be the frontrunner to play Domino in Deadpool 2, according to a report from That Hashtag Show. Monáe’s first two acting roles were in Hidden Figures, which was nominated for Best Picture by the Academy Awards, and Moonlight, which won the same award.

Looks like it is official, as Collider posted it.

‘Deadpool 2’ to Cast Zazie Beetz as Domino

FX’s Atlanta has already acted as a springboard of sorts for the show’s creator and star Donald Glover, who landed the coveted role of a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Anthology Film. The show’s return for a second season has already been delayed until 2018, which is bad news for its fans, but good news for Glover’s co-stars, like Zazie Beetz, who was just announced as joining 20th Century Fox’s highly anticipated Deadpool sequel.

The announcement wasn’t done in any traditional manner, but then again, what about Deadpool has been traditional? That doesn’t change the fact that Beetz will be playing Domino, a Marvel mutant with a curious ability that fits just perfectly alongside Ryan Reynolds‘ brand of humor and Deadpool 2‘s sure-to-be fourth-wall-breaking script. And since the character is expected to appear in the X-Force movie, you can bet that Beetz will be along for that follow-up as well, though nothing has been officially announced just yet.

    CABLE IS COMING!

Deadpool 2 Writers Reveal Cable Traits For Casting Search

Speaking to Deadpool's writer Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick at a press event for their upcoming film Life, which reunited them with Deadpool himself Ryan Reynolds, ComicBook.com got an update on the status of the Cable search.

"It's a short, short list," Reese said.

"An announcement will be coming very soon," Wernick chimed in. "We're gonna go into production in the next couple of months and cast announcements will be coming fast and furious."

While the writers were unable to disclose any of the stars in contention for the role, they did share the details of traits which will determine the selection.

"I think intimidating, scary, a great foil opposite the lunacy," Reese said. "Someone with a great deadpan thing where they can react to someone who's being crazy. Someone who also has a spark of a sense of humor. This person has to be funny because they're buddying up with Ryan [Reynolds] and Deadpool so they just themselves to be funny but in a more serious way, if that makes sense. Physically imposing and able to emote. There's real drama and real stakes. It's a tough one."

Wernick was quick to point out that 20th Century Fox will need somebody "who can carry a franchise moving forward."

"They've got X-Force coming up," Wernick said. "Cable is head of the X-Force so it's someone who can also command a movie franchise. It's a tall task and we have been on the hunt for a very long time. I think once it's announced, as we get closer, people are gonna go crazy for it."

More characters introduced in Deadpool 2? Bring it on!

DEADPOOL Screenwriters Say To Expect More Obscure Characters Like Negasonic Teenage Warhead In The Sequel

Speaking to Latino-Review about their upcoming Sony film, Life (which is not secretly a Venom prequel), screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese said that while Domino and Cable are the big, headlining additions to Deadpool, comic book fans should keep their eyes peeled for more obscure X-Men characters. In particular, it sounds as if it will be more than just Cable and Domino that team-up with the Merc with a Mouth to stop whoever is the villain this time around.

"Yeah, Cable and Domino grabbed the headlines on Deadpool. But there are definitely some more obscure characters that people know or that real diehards know that will be in there just by virtue of we need a new villain, and we need some new good guys to compliment (Deadpool), but it is growing. Of course, it will be all about the lunacy that is Deadpool himself."
    Omega Red? Gideon? Longshot?
