Cool Netflix's WAR MACHINE starring Brad Pitt

"An absurdist war story for our times, writer-director David Michôd (Animal Kingdom) recreates a U.S. General's roller-coaster rise and fall as part reality, part savage parody - raising the specter of just where the line between them lies today. His is an exploration of a born leader's ultra-confident march right into the dark heart of folly. At the story's core is Brad Pitt's sly take on a successful, charismatic four-star general who leapt in like a rock star to command NATO forces in Afghanistan, only to be taken down by a journalist's no-holds-barred exposé.

"The Netflix original film is inspired by the book The Operators: The Wild & Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan by the late journalist Michael Hastings. Joining Pitt in War Machine is a highly decorated cast including Tilda Swinton, Sir Ben Kingsley, Anthony Michael Hall, Topher Grace, Will Poulter, Lakeith Stanfield, Emory Cohen, John Magaro, RJ Cyler, Alan Ruck, Scoot McNairy and Meg Tilly. Ian Bryce and Plan B's Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Brad Pitt serve as producers. James Skotchdopole serves as executive producer. The film will be released on Netflix on May 26, 2017."

He really does well in these zany roles. Think things like Twelve Monkeys, Cool World (wow, that brings back memories), Snatch (LOVE THIS MOVIE), The Mexican, Inglourious Basterds - even Megamind.

Seriously folks did we really want a racially reversed Brad Pitt doing Rhoades? It would be like casting Sam Jackson as Nick Fury or Johnny Storm as a young Afro American or Denzel playing Yul Brenner's role in Magnificent Seven. Of course it was OK when Yul was essentially replacing Toshiro because we went to war with Japan a few years before that. Is there potential copyright infringement here?

I would have preferred that Don Cheadle get a series about Marvel's "War Machine". I feel like I've already seen this by just reading about it.

the story of a cavalier public official being taken down by a tough-as-nails journalist is an enduring Hollywood fantasy... and, honestly, I don't really feel the need to see this story again.

Bright. Saw this yesterday. I heard him talking about a film he was doing where he played a cop, hence the stache in an interview; had no idea it was landing on Netflix though. I smell a trend.

Oh ****, that reminds me I just saw another movie trailer starring Tilda Swinton I believe that is a Netflix exclusive.

I remember the first Netlfix movie with a big star that was brought to my attention was Beast with no Nation starring Idris Elba.

Imperial Dreams was really good from Netflix.

Their movies look to be on an upward trend.
