The release of the paperback omni's really made the mapping easy.
I just concentrated on making the books look as accurate and legitimate as possible.
These look fantastic. Every time I see stuff like this it really makes me want to get into custom binds. What are the interiors......singles, trades, hardcovers? or a mix?

Thanks. If you are thinking of binding them, they were really straightforward. It was just the tpb omni's in reading order. So, volume 1 + Short Stories in book one, then the remainder in book 2.

Then I just tried to make the covers look authentic. But that's just one way to do it.

JoeGuy - really digging those Hellboy books, nice job!

While I’ve gotten out of the binding game myself after moving to Japan, I’ve still done some designs for others the last few years. Is there any interest in seeing them? I still read this thread some and it makes me miss it a bit!

I'm always interested. Do you still do design assist?

Cool, I’ll gather some pics of books then! And yeah, I still help folks here and there with designs. I can’t do any prep, but dust jackets, covers, extra pages (table of contents, summaries, bonus material, etc.) I’m happy to do depending on my schedule.

Thanks. When I was making the Superman binds on the previous page, I looked at your old posts and wanted to get close to that quality. Unfortunately I can barely use a photo editor tbh. So I modelled things like Hellboy and Spider-Man as if they were official binds as that's easier to do.

Of course. The Swamp Thing binds look great btw. I always like joined spine art.

Nothing wrong with modeling off official releases! Lots of folks like the connecting spine stuff, most of the stuff I do these days have them.

Here’s a single Aquaman volume that turned out pretty nice (it’s easy when there is such amazing art to work with!):

The same person who had me make the above Swamp Thing and Aquaman also converted the three Johns JSA omnis into thinner deluxe editions and had me make new dust jackets. Here’s a couple of those and the spines of the full set:
