There is some gutter loss, the amount depends on the type of binding used and what you're binding. For example, if you bind older comics that aren't full bleed (thus having a built-in gutter) you won't lose anything no matter what method you use, typically. But newer comics if you bind them oversewn, or even DFAB, will have some gutter loss. Smythe sewn will have less gutter loss, but you can't use trades or remove any pages from the floppies.

As for the number of issues, gosh, I dunno. I have about 150 or so binds; some have as few as 10-12 issues, others as many as 40 issues. It's a lot, regardless

Gaastra - I just shot a quick bit with my iPhone. It's not the best quality, I'm not much of a narrator, but you get the idea:
Great video and awesome collection, Kirk!

Hey Dick Grayson, IIRC you had the Alpha Flight Byrne run bound? If so, can you tell me what your map was?

I have not bound that one myself, but I did find this thread over on the MMW that might help: http://marvelmasterworksfansite.yuku...p#.VtoCD5MrK-o

Thanks. Someone posted pics here of their AF bound books. I thought it was you. I'll have to try and find them.

Got my first bind back from Herring & Robinson - the first 25 issues of Shade. I'm in love. Think I'm going to do some different spines for other runs, though; I could see this style getting a little stale as it is unremarkable. My problem now is what to send next!

Nice books. It's incredibly addictive once you start.

Default Binding Floppies into a Trade

I recently bought single issue comics for the first time in over a decade.

If I wanted these bound, anyone know where to go, approx. cost to get 25 comics put into a trade or two?
I love comics and make art. Check it out: https://www.facebook.com/pages/ARose...9658123?ref=hl

Are you in the US? If you don't want anything too flashy herring and robinson bindery is a good place to start. Last time I checked they'd probably charge around $22 for a basic bind for those books. More info at their site obviously.

If you want cloth covers, H&R is definitely a good bet. If you want art-on-cover like some of the ones in this thread, you can go to Houchen if you can design the art and all that. If you're looking for someone to make the art and do the prep and all that, give me a shout! comicbindingpro@gmail.com or PM me here.

Does anyone know if the binders would allow for/give a different price if I sew the books myself but want them to do the rest?
