It looks like Family Guy got the whole series revival popular, Is this a new trend thats going on now, If people miss something they will give it a new season after it was cancelled for awhile.
Examples of revivals are Samurai Jack, Young Justice, Beavis and Butt-Head, Futurama, and Family Guy.

Also, Ren and Stimpy when it was revived by Spike about a decade or so ago.

The Powergirls Girls were revived last year. The new show is absolute crap.

I thought the new PPG show was a reboot, not a revival.

The only thing that's different with the new show is the tone shift. Being more of a comedy show than an action-oriented one. A very terrible comedy show. The anime Powerpuff Girls Z falls in line with being a reboot than the new show. Originally Posted by Basara
