Did Brock always sound like the Joker when it came to the Symbiote? I mean, I know they had a very...close relationship, but "darling" seems a little much at this point .
But I guess at least you can see he still, on some level, craves the Symbiote again. And I'm also guessing Spidey is going to do something here that ticks the Symbiote and Brock off enough to make them hate him again.
I laughed out loud when Eddie sees the symbiote and says "My darling"
I can't wait.

Toxin was forcefully bonded to him and he reacted like a recovering addict would if you unwillingly pumped them full of their drug of use, thus probably warping his perception about symbiotes in general. He also remained a self-righteous prick so the fact that he's a hypocrite passes right through him.
It's not great characterization really. But if it does away with Lee Price it's "okay" enough, or that seems to be the general consensus.
I think after Eddie wanted to be a better person and having acknowledged that it's the host that influences the symbiote and not the other way around in the Carnage comic, he sought to use this experience to help anyone to stop people who abuse any symbiote's gifts.
Plus after giving up the Toxin symbiote, Eddie probably remembered the bond he used to share with the Venom symbiote in terms of a friendship/partnership. So maybe being with Toxin for some time and working with it, he missed that companionship he used to have.
Also I think the synopsis for Venom # 151 is out of context. Eddie and the Venom symbiote have a mutual respect for Spider-Man, so I think once he bonds with the symbiote and becomes Venom again, I think he'll go back to basics of protecting the innocent and only use violence as a last resort.
