That is Hagerwean's cover. I voted for The Celtic Batman. The Hotspur and the Hornet "Boy's Comic".
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Ah, I see. Is that a British comic? I'm assuming since Hotspur is a nickname from a while back and used in Shakespeare's plays about the Plantagenets and their rivals.

A lot of unusual choices this week. I'll cast my vote for The Celtic Batman.

Yes, a very British comic old chap. Weekly and on good old fashioned newsprint what? ;-)

When I saw the theme my first thought was 'I wish I knew a Conan cover as cool as James Earl Jones as Thulsa Doom...'

So, despite the great covers with Dr Doom or Snake Plissken, I have to vote for Johnny Peril's cover!

(Ravin' Ray, in The Rampaging Hulk #9 the great Tony DeZuniga drew a very nice story involving Shanna and her snake... I wish the cover was about it!...)

A cover should be posted here also IMHO. By Namor's creator Bill Everett, and just one month before the first Marvel Comics, in september 1939.

I didn't realize he paved the way for other Filipino artists like Whilce Portacio, Leinil Francis Yu, Gerry Alanguilan, Carlo Pagulayan and others. Thanks for that.
