Dragon Gate: Thus the JSDF Fought There

Basically a what-if alternate universe scenario for Gate: Thus the JSDF Fought There.

Same scenario, basically a gate leading to another world opens in Ginza district in modern-day Japan during the opening of Gate - but instead of the Empire troops from Gate, you get hordes of Darkspawn emerge from the Gate. Thus leading to two scenarios.

Scenario 1:
Darkspawn begin swarming from the gate and ran rampant in Tokyo. Can the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and JSDF contain the threat, rout the Darkspawn and secure the gate?

Scenario 2:
The Japanese forces are successful in routing the Darkspawn and securing the gate to ensure no further enemy incursions were made, they study the gate and the world that lies beyond (basically, Thedas) and send in an expedition force to establish a forward base in Thedas. How would the presence of the JSDF on Thedas affect the dynamics of Dragon Age from that point on?

Okay, so first answer: Yes. Unless we're talking about millions of Darkspawn, they will eventually get shot, killed, rounded up, and this Gate cut off from sending in more. Eventually. At the start, it all depends on how many are coming through. A few thousand? They're not really a huge hazard to Tokyo as a whole, and will be hunted down and killed. A few tens of thousands? We're talking a serious problem, but the JDF will still cut off the Gate as soon as the military gets into it, even if that takes parking about ten tanks in front of it and just machine-gunning the hordes until someone can set up a barricade.

Second scenario, it will certainly be a massive impact on Thedas, given that whomever the JSDF decide to support will win any conflicts.
