It's great to see Jean figuring things out for herself and not being defined on thse 3 men.

The only way that cover made sense to me was if Jean was launching Emma into something via a fastball special.

Jean in world without Xavier, Scott, and Logan is a story that writes itself. I want to see her reaction and how she picks up the pieces.

Or she's going back to her home planet.

    *confused*

Why do people blame Morrison for Jean's death when he left her in perfectly good health at the end of his run?

She was always the more logic one to oppose Scott way more than trying to force Wolverine or Storm into that role.
I agree, 100%, with everything you said right there. Had they not killed off Jean, and later on Logan, imagine a Jean & Logan led school vs. Scott and Emma! So drama. Much wow.

You overlook the small fact that it still would be the same writers and the same editors, so likely nothing of note would have been different if Marvel had remembered that Morrison's ended with Jean being alive and well.

    What "Status Quo"?

We are talking about a line that always feels like it is in flux, and a bigger picture where "The Complex" is actually a thing.

Jean was already dead by the time of Phoenix Endsong.
And his run ended in New X-men #154, after the end of the "Here Comes Tomorrow" arc, not before.

Another Jean/Logan shipper ?. Besides, Jean and Emma vs Logan and Scott it would cause more drama.

An arc she was alive at the end of, and part of the Phoenix Corps.

No she was dead. She resided in the WHR. Think of that as where she crossed over to after death. In present day 616, she was dead. The very last scene of his run had Scott and Emma making out over her grave. Wow, you really thought he left her alive in his run these past 12 years?

Exactly. If Jean was alive in the time between her death and and "Here Comes Tomorrow", the Phoenix Force would not have created a Phoenix Five.

What we can safely assume is Jean's "Soul/Essence/Whatever" is inside of the M'Kraan Crystal. Since the Crystal is a nexus of many universes, you'd need actual proof of her physical existence for her to still be "Alive" and well at the end of "Here Comes Tomorrow".

Which is before you even have to be able to -

    - Conclusively prove that whatever came out of the Phoenix Egg is indeed "Our Alive" Jean to say "Jean was alive and well at the end".
    - Explain how "Our Alive" Jean lives through sanitizing the timeline that leads up to her being "Alive and well" at the end of "Here Comes Tomorrow".

This is not Morrison killing of Jean. This is later writers not wanting to deal with it, or being told by their editors Jean is not coming back, and retconning the WHR to be some kind of afterlife.
