Managed to read this a few days ago, but haven't had a chance to post.
I enjoyed this for the most part - although it sometimes felt like they were laying the nostalgia on a bit to thick.
That said, I always give out about the lack of continuity and so I can't really complain we they have so many nods to X-men history.
Good to see a load of cameos and the art was great.
X-Men Gold
The core of this book was the X-Men Gold setup, and I thought it was done best.
Great to see Kitty back and to have the X-Men back to superheroing instead of fighting off extinction.
The "Kitty you're amazing" stuff was a bit much - (now I know how non-Cyclops fans felt in the Cyclops is awesome era) - but I like her enough to go with it.
For me, Colossus came across as that creepy ex in this issue.
The X-Men Gold preview doesn't paint him any better by the looks of it.
I can't tell if it's supposed o be romantic that he still loves her or a story about letting go.
But lets hope he sees the boundaries.
The Kitty & Illyana scene was nice, although I feel bad Illyana is about to be dropped for Rachel.
X-Men Blue
I'm looking forward to this title, but this didn't fill me with confidence.
Jean getting pissed because Warren saved her just seemed off, especially since he just had a similar (and so far better done) story arc with Laura in All New X-Men.
Also all that "because you're Jean" stuff was just strange - unless there's mind control going on I'm unimpressed.
Weapon X
Meh, nice art, but this barely peeked my interest.
Generation X
Felt like we were just being reminded that Jubilee has a baby.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Here's my Parody Summary for the issue.
