Secret Wars-era Molecule Man got near-fatally wounded by Wolverine cutting his side. I imagine a lucky mook getting a shot between the eyes could do it, and this version of MM was able to hold his own against pre-retcon Beyonder. Unless he had some kind of self-preservation power that kicked in around that time.
