It's incredible how much Ian Churchill has improved as an artist. As someone that wasn't a fan of his work back during the Supergirl days, his work here looks great.

Ian's art definitely doesn't have it's harshly square look anymore.

Ian's art reminds me of Howard Porter's. And, honestly, I think his early work probably stemmed from working for Rob Liefeld and a few of those guys. A lot of artists are capable of drawing in multiple styles but they'll develop the one that gets them work.

Greg Land had kind of a Jimenez/Scott McDaniel hybrid style before he started photo tracing.

That's exactly how he put it, that it was really about conforming to get steady work.

“Basically, when I got in to comics back in the early 1990’s my first work was for Marvel, and the E-i-C at the time was Bob Harras,” the artist explained. “I was out to lunch with Bob one day and asked him how I was to get more work from Marvel and his answer was ‘Well, you could draw a little more like Jim Lee because that’s what’s selling well at the moment.’ So, being quite young and out to make a splash, I started to adapt my drawing style to emulate, rather than copy, Jim’s style. I began to get more projects offered to me, and it kind of snowballed from there.

    - Good to see Clark and Lois back at Daily Planet.
    - Art is amazing, I loved that suit.
    - Looking forward to Jon-Perry, Jon-Jimmy interactions.
    - So Clark and Lois can't recall what happened in Reborn? Why would it be like that? In Superman 20, Lois and Clark seemed to know what happened to them and Jon. Lois asked if she and Clark are going to discuss what happened with the other...(sentence wasn't finished). I assume their memories are getting cloudy as time passes.

Looks like Clark is heading to the Fortress. I guess we will see what version is still around.

Yeah, when Kal-L returns before completely destroying the Anti-Monitor he runs into Jay Garrick, who remembers their adventures from Earth 2, but he's losing them. After COIE Garrick doesn't remember a Superman from his time, instead Iron Munro takes Kal-L place in the timeline.

It'd be better if they merged the New 52 history/characterization with the post-Crisis look and some of the post-Crisis history. If Truth is out, so would be his death anyway. Its unlikely but that would be the best of both worlds as New 52 Corben had some depth to him.

Should be noted though that's not Metallo's final look. At some point he gets a face judging from solicited covers.

I almost posted the Captain America " I got that referrence! " Meme, but I was too lazy to do so. Anyone else want to step in?
When it comes to comics, one person's "fan-service" is another persons personal cannon. So by definition it's ALL fan service. Aren't we ALL fans?

B... Because ...Um... It's kryptonian ceremonial armor to ...Um....Honor his heritage... It's definitely not because Jim Lee is a terrible costume designer, that's for sure!
