Default Mignola, Arcudi and Maleev Team for "Hellboy and the B.P.R.D."

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.'s "lost" years are chronicled in a new series from franchise creator Mike Mignola, John Arcudi and Alex Maleev.

Fingers crossed for this to become a series of mini-series!

It would also be kinda refreshing as the current ongoing BPRD storyline, while great, is a bit of a downer in its epic bleakness.

I'd have preferred Maleev to finish out the Empire of the Dead trilogy, but hell, I'll follow him wherever.
You are my favorite thing, Peter. My very favorite thing.

Great news Maleev fits the Mignolaverse perfectly.

Agreed on the series of minis. As long as they keep Maleev.

Maleev's Weird Tale is a favorite. I have often thought about seeing more of his work on these books. Very happy to see this happening.

If Mike is actually going to be involved, I'm in.

He is. He's heavily involved in the plot and writing all of Hellboy's dialogue. I'm also pretty sure he's very involved in the design aspects.

I think he was originally intended to draw the run that Fegredo ended up doing. Personally, as much as I like Maleev, I think Fegredo was the right choice. it was almost seamless.

I believe it was Lee Bermejo (not Maleev) who initially was asked to do a trial couple of pages on a batch of thumbnailed layouts of mr Mignola of Darkness Calls back in 2005, and later on Duncan Fegredo got invited to do the very same thing, which resulted into having Fegredo end up with the gig. Luckily.
A side-by-side of those pages of both Bermejo and Fegredo are on the internet still I'd be to think, eventhough this board got wiped most unfortunately.
