I'm guessing this is that 12-issue series he said he was going to do a while back.

I was really surprised DC didn't attempt a Mister Miracle series right after The Darkseid War.

I was wondering when we would follow up on Scott and Barda, and this looks to be it. Wasn't expecting King to be headlining it though.

I've always pegged King as a romantic, in his own way, so it'll be interesting to see how that works for the Free's. I feel like he's going to go for an "epic romance against all odds" kind of story here, which is fitting.

    The art looks familiar...

DC's greatest oddball couple getting their own book? I'm in!
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

So I didn't read Darkseid War, but I heard Scott was in it? Did Johns get his character right?

Oh, and as an aside, I think Scott and Barda may be two of the only semi-major characters that no one actively dislikes. Tons of people are likely indifferent to them, but I've never met anyone who says, "Yeah, Mr. Miracle and Big Barda are the worst!"

Yes. There were a lot of people actively hoping Scott and Barda would be sticking around the book during that arc .

I imagine this will be following-up on Johns' Darkseid run to some degree.

If so, then I guess it'll start with Scott and Barda separated, since Barda had to return to the Female Furies at the end of Darkseid War. I guess the story will begin with Scott trying to find a way to free Barda. And since he's the God of Freedom, I don't see that being too hard for him.

Very excited for this. I'm curious if we will see the state of new apokolips after Lex took over during darkseid war.

    Yep.

I also wouldn't be surprised if King does plenty of flashbacks to their falling love when Scott was original trapped in Apokolips and Barda was being primed as leader of the Furies.

It'll actually be interesting to see what's going on there what with Darkseid being "dead."

Hopefully, Oberon will also make his re-appearance here.
