However, I didn't think his Superman reboot got really good until after he left and Ordway, Stern, and Jurgens kind of took over.

I absolutely adored his Alpha Flight and to this day, I wish he had concluded his fantastic Incredible Hulk run (Al Milgrom took over and the results were...unsatisfactory)

He had an interesting run on Namor in the 90's and many people adore his She-Hulk (i kind of thought it was too jokey for my serious 90's aesthetic)

But since then, it has been tough going. Not too many folks like his Spider-man issues. His Doom Patrol was hideously bad. I thought his Wonder Woman was interesting, but not great. His Next Men kind of meandered around without much point. Strangely I think his recent spittballing attempts like Trio, Danger.1 have been kind of good.

I like to see him reboot Danger Unlimted and do some FF style stories.
    Agreed on every point.

Gotta say I was psyched out of my mind with hope for his Doom Patrol. I've rarely had such a negative reaction to a book. It looked ok, but OMG that dialogue was the absolute worst. I never came back.

Seriously! I was so disappointed when we didn't get the final volume in his Namor visionaries last September. I hope Marvel is still planning on publishing it.

Of course, I loved Uncanny X-Men and his FF run also.

Funny that Lost Generation has only been referenced (to my recollection), in Byrne's X-Men book that took place between X-men #66 and Giant Size X-Men #1. Never mentioned anywhere else.

And no love for Next Men?

I also loved his first year on Alpha Flight.

I wish they would've let him keep that title. It was one of the last Marvels I read and enjoyed.

Can't believe I forgot Namor. This was definitely a "total package" Byrne book - excellent writing, great characterisation and fantastic artwork.

For me, Byrne's peak work was his Iron Fist which led to his run on the X-men. Always felt his art looked it's best when inked by Terry Austin. I own a book that was a one shot collaboration that looked spectacular; an Avengers annual drawn by Steve Ditko and inked by Byrne! Primo!!

His X-Men run then a close second is his Fantastic Four tied with Alpha Flight. I quite enjoyed his Namor series as well but I know that got mixed reviews among fans.

Yeah as I understand it the cancelling of that book is what lead to him leaving Marvel. I don't even think the sales for the book were low.
