Loved that fight scene with Ty...gets thrown and teleports to the other side of the guy and pops him from above.

I did like that the game Ty and Tandy were playing was a homage to their backstory in the original comics they debuted in. As for the ascendancy of D'Spayre, I'm guessing that's going to be the crux of the season finale.

making my way through the first couple of episodes of season one.
Wow. Surprisingly intriguing. My knowledge of the 1980s era appearances is pretty good, and so I'm getting to appreciate all the updated components.
.. so Tandy is still a former ballerina.. but parents weren't outright wealthy.. and of course, her father isn't seen for very long.. mom is an alcoholic nurse..
fortunately this time Tyrone's backstory is given a much more deeper exploration, with both of his parents actively seen, and living a middle-class lifestyle.. nice.. Cloak's backstory and motivations were severely underwritten in the original comics... the backdrop of a Catholic high school is nice.. they even have a scene in church service..
.. so by the time Tyrone and Tandy first meet, it's her who's the pickpocket, and more adjacent to the "street" world than Ty.. nice reversal..
the racial conflicts, subtly worked into the dynamics between characters..
the occasional swearing, the implied sex between Tandy and her boyfriend... wow, wouldn't have figured a Marvel show would go there.. but of course it's not unheard of for teen culture.. just surprising..Last edited by Hypestyle; 05-21-2019 at 03:03 PM.

You guys really think the priest will tell the FBI about the murder? Every itch of that bathroom was covered in plastic. Unless the cops are keeping watch on her house or she botches the disposal of the body she should get away with it. I hope she does.

I caught the Luke Cage reference but did I not also catch a reference to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? I thought they mentioned government agents going rogue in California which would have been Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4.
