Default East of West is THE best Image book right now

I just finished the second Deluxe Edition volume of this series and it was as amazing as the first one. The writing is superb, the characters are all so interesting, unique and different from each other.

Dragotta's artwork is magnificent. He's one of my favorite modern artists. His work just jumps off the page and really brings the characters to life.

And Frank Martin's coloring is the icing on the cake. He takes Dragotta's art and adds such brilliant and vibrant colors to it.

If you're not reading this book, do yourself a favor and start reading it.

East of West #1 was the very first independent/Image book I'd ever bought. So glad I did. Not only is it incredible but it opened up a whole new area of comics for me to get into. Much much love for this book.

If you like EoW, I would recommend these books too:
    -Lazarus
    -Hellboy
    -BPRD
    -BTVS
    -Angel

Best is a bold statement but East of West is definitely an awesome book, one of many awesome Image books.

Lazarus is up there. I'm also reading most of Remender's books. Descender by Lemire is my favorite book from Image.

There are other titles that I'm more excited about at the moment, but none of them have been going for 30+ issues. What Hickman and Dragotta have accomplished is incredible.

It's just my opinion. What books do you feel are better?

Lazarus is really, really good too. But I just can't get into Descender.

I'm a Mass Effect junkie. It's like my Star Wars or Star Trek... and Descender reminds me a LOT of Mass Effect. And the art is really easy on the eyes too.

Is it though? I read like the first three volumes and while I like the plot... the characters aren't particularly interesting outside of three or fourth. Death and his flunkies are probably the worst and barely get any focus. Has it improved?

Wow, I think all of the characters are interesting. Babylon is great, so is Xioalian, the Horsemen, the believers in high places, etc.

I'd say it is my favourite comic being published ATM. From any company. (I read it in trades)

Co-signed best non DC book out right now, and it is better than most of DC's.
