Dan Slott writes two of the best mainstream comics today, and that's Amazing Spider-Man and Silver Surfer. Literally the only news about Legacy that I'm really happy with. You bet that if me and others who love Spidey and love what Dan is doing for the character, he has at least more 10 good years on him of Spider-Man stories to tell, and I look forward to them.

    Pull list:

Marvel Comics: X-Men, Marauders, Excalibur, New Mutants, X-Force, Fallen Angels and Immortal Hulk

"Humans of the planet Earth. While you slept, the world changed." -Professor X

While it's commendable it lasted a few years [and earned an Eisner], it ultimately wasn't a big seller

Exactly, and with Zdarsky and I forget the other one, it's likely that Marvel is auditioning for possible next writers right now.

    Not quite yet. ;-)

Issue #12 came out last week.

    Issue #13 is being drawn.

And I'm plotting the final issue, #14, this week.

Both volumes together come out to 29 issues.
Plus the Marvel Point One 10 pager, that's 30 stories.
Eisner nominated for best series in 2016.
Eisner winner for best single issue of 2016.
A grand total of 610 interior pages-- all of it with the SAME writer, artist, & colorist-- and with no inventory issues or fill-ins.

In this day and age, that's not bad for a run.

Quite possible but, just because it was done like that in decades past, doesn't necessarily mean it will be like that going forward. After all, the 2 most prominent----and long running---writers in ASM's recent history didn't come from any satellite titles (JMS and Slott). Slott did write the Spidey/Torch mini "I'm With Stupid" but that's a bit different.

    Not too shabby indeed.

I have always enjoyed what you did with Mr. Rad and his faithful companion Dawn and I hope you get to play with them again one day.

Will do you one better, mate - I've never really gotten into the SS character, it's just never clicked - but I genuinely enjoyed this go round, thought it was great work. Team deserves the praise it's been getting for that one - thanks for putting it out.

Speaking as a reader, I wish that series lasted more than thirty issues in general. Supply and demand I guess?

Congrats on the Eisners. Which issue won?

Speaking as a reader, one of the things I hate the most is when a series switches artists. While I can understand that it sometimes has to happen, if Marvel has a suggestion box, keeping writing (and illustration) teams on a single series consistent for longer durations would be one of them.

Take it you're happy with the series. That's good to hear.

Hope sometime in the future we get one big omnibus with the whole run, that would be fantastic to see.

Also interested to see how the last few issues of this run are going to be traded. Seems to me they're gonna do Vol. 5 as #7-10 and Vol. 6 as #11-14, or they could go all out and put 8 issues in one volume

a shame the book didn't make it into legacy. the whole run was great! and with both runs it comes roughly to 30 issues! so, in this day at Marvel, no less, is very impressive!

thank you Dan for this outing of Silver Surfer..(I hope he shows up elsewhere?) I enjoyed it a lot!

Would a book with that many issues be hard to read?

Four per book? That's different. Seems like Marvel lately prefers having five or six per book. Wonder why so few here? Me, personally, I'd prefer to have one with eight than two with four.
