I first discovered Scott and Jean as a kid reading the first run of X-Factor starting with issue one and then reading Classic X-Men/X-Men Classic and getting back issues.

Since we're talking about Jeen and Tyke already...
I love this moment. The art makes it so beautiful and romantic.

Last year, when X-men 92 was still out, I wrote a blog post about X-men 92 #5, the Cyclops/Jean issue. To date, it's one of the most popular posts on my publishing blog and one I'm most proud of. In my opinion, that issue highlighted the greatest strengths of the Cyclops/Jean relationship. And it did so without having Jean faint at any point.
It's part of what I think makes their relationship so compelling. It's not a case where one of them is a hero while the other is not. It's not a case where one has superpowers and the other doesn't. It's not even a case where they're from two wildly different worlds. They're both mutants. They're both heroes. They've both lived, worked, and struggled together. By all accounts, theirs is one of the most realistic and believable romances in superhero comics. And this issue proved it. I go into greater detail on my blog and if you're a Cyclops/Jean fan, I think you'll find plenty to appreciate.
