    Default Best Animated Batman Movie?

It's Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

But I'm willing to hear arguments to the contrary.

Seriously though, I think ROTJ is like, possibly the best Batman film ever, period. I've always preferred the animated stuff to the live-action.

I also just got done re-watching Under the Red Hood and it's excellent.

I'm gonna be checking out The Dark Knight Returns movie in a week when I also read the comic for the first time.

I really love ROTJ (and Batman Beyond as a whole!)

Mask of The Phantasm is also good (especially the construction site chase, Bruce's first night as a vigilante & the final fight with the joker). Also it had this scene which IMO should have been included in Batman Begins:

Subzero is well done but under rated (and MUCH better than Batman and Robin LOL) and Under The Red Hood is also great

My top 5 animated Batman films:

    5. The Dark Knight Returns (WAY behind the top 4)

    4. Year One

    3. Return of the Joker (Has some amazing elements, but isn't as overall good as the top 2 for me)

    2. Under the Red Hood (SO close to being what I view as the best)

    1. Mask of the Phantasm (Arguably the best movie DC has ever made, Batman or not)

The Lego Batman movie is not only the best animated one, but the best Batman movie period.

I also think Return of the Caped Crusaders ranks right up near the top.

Mask of the Phantasm is my favorite Batman (and DC Animated) Movie, great story, voice actors ,animation and the score is beautiful . Next, it would be Under The Red Hood, one of the few movies I find better than the comic it was based on. The adaptation of DKR was great, but the original story is far superior, so probably I'd put Return of the Joker in the third place

TDKR is number one. With Mask of the Phantasm a solid number 2. This scene is the most powerful scene of any Batman movie and still gives me goosebumps.

Return of the Joker, Under the Red Hood, and Year One round out my top five.

I hope the DCAU gets out of New 52 soon.

Mask of the Phantasm easily for me. The writing, the very compelling emotional drama, the voice actors, the music, the accuracy, the art/animation. You will never see a Batman film as great ever again.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

I tried really hard to like Lego Batman, but it's just way too childish and random. Mask of the Phantasm is a kids movie as well, but it never exclusively feels like one when you're watching it in the same way that Lego Batman does. Totally agree with you, though, that Return of the Caped Crusaders is easily the best Batman movie since the Dark Knight and probably the best animated movie in almost a decade.

Oh and 1) Mask of the Phantasm 2) Return of the Joker 3) Return of the Caped Crusaders 4) Under the Red Hood 5) Mystery of the Batwoman
