Ethan Edwards is the closest analogue to Superman. Has an almost matching history to him.

    But Hyperion is my favourite.

Silver Surfer (similar morals and exile from homeworld) and Blue Marvel (similar getup and powerset).

Voted for Hyperion; his Hickman version was an excellent character, and the other versions that've been done are all a lot of fun too. So get gets my vote. But conceptually my favorite is Sentry.

The idea of a "Superman" with some classic Marvel flaws, and those flaws being as much a spectacle as the rest of the character, strikes me as an infinitely "Marvel" sort of idea, and ripe for the kind of character exploration that the company is founded on. And honestly, the idea that his arch-enemy is really just a manifestation of his own mental issues is incredibly interesting.

What we actually got didn't really fly, but that original mini-series and the ideas behind it (including the Wizard-related reveal)? That was cool.

Lot of love for Blue Marvel too, but so far I haven't seen him capitalize on the Silver Age-y potential and steal the spotlight. But Ive yet to grab the back half of Mighty Avengers and Im also trade waiting Ultimates2, and Im hoping to see the guy really get some focus and cut loose somewhere in there.

I voted for Sentry because he is the blonde, strong, male version of Storm.

Sentry also has a an "s" on his costume, just like superman and can stand for Storm.

It was a toss up between Hyperion and Gladiator for me, but in the end I chose Hyperion. Mostly because of the JMS Supreme Power version, but the recent version by Hickman and other writers has been pretty good as well. Hyperion feels like a closer analogue to Superman than Gladiator does to me.

I've always liked Hyperion since I first saw him as a kid. Liked the look, and mainly I think it was the little domino mask on a Super-Man analogue. I find the reasons for liking heroes from my youth tend to be extremely trivial - in no way do I think Hyperion is necessarily a better character than the others on the list, just my favourite for kind of silly reasons.
