    The Sentry for me.
Bendis clearly liked the character and had good plans for him at the beginning of his New Avengers run. I think he lost what he was going for as he got further into the run and more invested in the big events...but his symbolism during the first year of New Avengers was nice.

Hyperion. Squadron Supreme is a masterpiece. Supreme Power was quite good as well. Also, I just love the word Hyperion.

Kudos to marvel, though, I like how different Hyperion, Gladiator, Sentry, and Blue Marvel are visually, story, and character wise.

Wundarr the Aquarian should be in the poll.

As Wundarr, yes, most definitely based on his origin and powers. But his powers changed significantly due to the experimentations with the Cosmic Cube while at Project Pegasus. This is in part why most people don't recognize the Superman pastiche.

In the real world, of course, word is that DC did push back on the Wundarr "homage" to Superman. It was too much like Superman from the alien origin, to the Sun being the source of his powers, to the red and blue suit. They were willing to sue over it iirc.

I suspect that's why Wundarr later became Aquarian, with a completely different look and a complete power revamp. Enveloped in a "null field" at all times, blind, and his strength reduced to low superhuman thresholds, Wundarr had been successfully negated as a Superman analog. The irony, of course, is that later John Byrne would introduce a version of Superman that had a thin force field of his own ... at all times. Purely coincidence, I'm sure.

He's been a reliable draw for writers more recently for sure. Even if not in a ton of comics, that actually could be working on his favor now. He's been thriving and getting much needed at least attempts at character development as a supporting character in Uncanny Avengers and Doctor Strange, and headlining only limited series like his 3rd miniseries, a Black Panther storyline and the Annihilation Scourge event.

Not having any active superteam membership could be his way to go. Being taken out of editorial limbo and made an Avenger for years and years under Bendis is undeniably a big factor on why the character is vocally disliked by some.

Hmm...not... quite. Bizarro is a morally defective Frankenstein's monster with Superman's powers. Anti-Man is a much, much more powerful anti-hero that represented the liberal, left extremist views that was prevalent during the 1960s. It was Ewing that portrayed Anti-Man as somehow cosmically touched in the head, but that was never Grevioux's intended characterization. If Blue Marvel was Silver Age Superman, then Anti-Man was Superman Prime One Million. Note how easily Anti-Man kicked the crap out of Sentry and the Avengers in his first appearance, which is why Iron Man was compelled to find Blue Marvel. Also note how he was able to use his unlimited energies, albeit at the cost of his own life, to purge the ravager effects of Chaos and Order and restore Lifebringer Galactus. As far as I know, Bizarro was never capable of that kind of upper echelon, cosmos rending energy output. But Superman Prime 1M is.

Hyperion from Squadron Supreme. Fantastic series, for the most part.

The Blue Marvel, Hyperion: (Earth-13034), Gladiator -- in that order.

I find Sentry to be annoying. Was pleased to see him ripped in half.

    I vote Blue Marvel.
They’ve barely scratched the surface on his potential in almost thirteen years.

    Tae-Won
    Taegukgi

    Place of Birth
    South Korea

Superhuman Strength: Taegukgi possesses vast superhuman strength, capable of lifting approximately 100 tons. While the upper limit of his strength is still unknown, he was considered on par with Blue Marvel and Sentry.

    Trivia
White Fox told Black Cat that Koreans call Hyperion "the American Taegukgi", after she made the inverse comparison.
