The big 3 of DC is Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

But for you who are the big 3 of:

    1. Teen Titans

For the classic Titans there's no big 3, but a big 5.

    2. Villains of DC

    Luthor, Joker, Darkseid

    3. Among the xmen

    Another big 5.

    4. Among Avengers

    Iron Man, Captain America, Thor

    5. Among villains of Marvel Comics
    6. Among heroes of Valiant Comics

    Dunno.
Last word out of your sorry mouth will be SIR and it will be LOUD!!

I think even without Downey Jr, he's more popular than the other three. And easily more popular than Hulk who might have been in a lot of stuff over the years has never been a hit on the level of Iron Man. Remember both Hulk movies flopped at the box office

Overall, there's nothing really to say Cap or Thor are more popular than Iron Man. IM3 made 500 million more than Captain America: WS and Thor: TDW! That's just such a massive amount that there needs to be proof the other way around that the other two are more popular when Occam's Razor just says that Iron Man really is that popular now. Guy is officially an A-Lister

The likes of Green Lantern and Flash have regularly over the years outsold Wonder Woman, but WW was always considered one of DC's big 3... Similarly Captain America I think is above Iron Man, pre MCU he was a character pretty much unknown to non comic readers while Cap has been a easily recognised character to the general public for decades.

I don't think Cap was that recognizable to the public before the recent movies. I don't disagree with you that Caps more
Important in the comics and I think I'd give him the edge as a 'Big 3' but Iron Mans popularity and being the face of the MCU and Avengers makes it very close

Flash and GL have never been as big as Stark. His popularity is pretty unprecedented especially compared to DC where their most popular characters have also been their most important (Superman and Batman)

Go on then, I'll play. Answers in bold.

    1. Teen Titans

I haven't read a Titans book in a long time, since I was a teenager myself actually. Going back to that period I'd say Nightwing, Starfire and Cyborg.

    2. Villains of DC

For me personally Lex Luthor, the Joker and Darkseid. Thing is, through exposure in other media, I'd say that other Batman foes like the Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman are easily as well known and would therefore qualify as 'bigger'.

    3. Among the xmen

Ah right, Marvel stuff. Well, Wolverine obviously. Then maybe Cyclops and Storm? Where would Deadpool fit into this? He's classed as a mutant isn't he?

    4. Among Avengers

Captain America, Iron Man and Thor. Easy that one.

    5. Among villains of Marvel Comics

Not sure who'd technically rank as the 'biggest' so I'll just say Doctor Doom, Galactus and the Green Goblin.

    6. Among heroes of Valiant Comics

Sorry but I've no idea. My ignorance there does not reflect well on me.

At Quality Comics, in terms of super-heroes (thus ruling out Blackhawk and Torchy), the big 3 were: Plastic Man, Uncle Sam, Doll Man (oh the irony). As those three got their own titles. The Spirit also got his own title, but those were reprints of the Spirit Sections, so I'm not sure the Spirit can be considered a Quality comics character, although he was a quality comics character.

    Those are great!

Worth repeating the Marvel Family trio.
Also Batman had a pretty hysterical Terrible Trio

And from Marvel I remember Daredevil had some kind of unholy-trio?

Defenders although the lineup fluctuated membership started with a strong trio of icons.
