    I know there was some complaint about Lois' lack of role or involvement in the last few issues, so it's good to see her take the lead here .

    I didn't have a huge problem with Lois taking a backseat role in the first two issues of Black Dawn but I'm glad she's featured prominently in the preview. If only to stop the complainers. That Dark Knight reference is plainer than the spots on a leopard.

    It's the same story. Batman was captured at the beginning and Superman is still looking for him.

    Mahnke's Lois is just so much sexier than Gleason's.

    And yes, the preview coming out right on the heels of discussion of a lack of a strong Lois role is indeed is a positive. I certainly won't be down in the dumps if I end up wrong on my beliefs in that area.

    Not for this issue from the looks of it. Its nothing odd, Gleason's still on the book, Mahnke has stepped in for an issue here and there since the run started.

    It's usually by design, I think. Mahnke is less a fill in artist, but more a another member of the art team. You couldn't really get this exquisite cinematic style with Gleason. Gleason's strengths are more in the expressiveness and kinesis of his art.

    I really like their system, and I hope the continue to push its strengths as their run progresses.

    Also Mahnke likely wants to follow up his Action 775 story.
