Plot: Basically, my dream comic would take elements of X-Men and what makes IT great, and elements of Babylon 5 and what made IT great and tell a balls-to-the-wall operatic space epic with sex, love, death, betrayal, double-crosses, triple-crosses, cursed artifacts, fearful space gods, war, peace, wind, fire, all that kind of thing! It would all lead to a proper epic finale that CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!, and involves the return of Charles Xavier, Lilandra Neremani, Rachel-as-Phoenix-again, and Reed & Sue Richards, as well as the resurgence of the Dire Wraiths as a genuinely dangerous cosmic/magical threat again. I remember those guys being effing terrifying, back in the day.

First Issue:
On an otherwise unremarkable day of protecting - or just trying to LIVE in - a world that hates and fears them, telepaths around the world are knocked out by a SENSES-SHATTERING psychic cry of pain, fear, loss, rage!
The SUM TOTALITY of an entire world's incoherent and raw emotion so potent that only the strongest minds can resist being swept away by it!
Among those few are Rachel Grey-Summers and Emma Frost, and in that cry, among a myriad of voices and languages, they recognize a voice: the voice of Charles Xavier!
They know this to be impossible - they saw him die, on Earth, and the cry came from the far side of the galaxy. But in their line of work...death is rarely what it seems, especially when it comes to space...

Emma reaches out to Havok, calling in a favor that we didn't know he owed her. She tells him that she wants his help reaching out to the X-men...basically, she wants him to make sure they don't just outright attack her on sight. Havok is repulsed by Emma cold manner and manipulative ways, but he's also secretly a little hopeful that she might not be all the way gone, given what she's offering to give back. Plus, he kind of misses the old gang, because Havok isn't Axis-ed and surly and out-of-character and melty-faced anymore. Emma did him a solid after he got her out at the end of IvX. Fixed his mind parts, and hooked him up with her plastic surgeon, who fixed Alex's face, so he's beautiful again.

Rachel reaches out to her brother, Cable, and asks him for his help and knowledge of the future. They meet up and talk. He can't be sure which events lead to which timelines, but he too heard the cry, and though he was knocked out by it, his wetware recorded it...and he thinks he could locate it's source, given the right context. As they are talking, Emma and Havok walk up. Emma looks confident, Havok looks like he wishes he was ANYWHERE else... Emma is not at all contrite and offers no apologies for her actions in IvX (whatever your opinion of her actions, The Emma we all love (we who love her) wouldn't show a 'weakness' like regret)...but we're left to wonder if she is, perhaps, seeking redemption in the eyes of her peers, or just relief from the boredom and disappointment that has become the world. Or both. Anyway, even if they don't want HER, she tells them, she DOES have something they WILL want...: the body of the man they all love. Father, brother, lover...Scott Summers, cryogenically preserved at the moment of death, thanks to quick thinking on Emma's part and the tech at Muir Island. All she's asking in return is a chance to get away from Earth for a while. Some time to think. Maybe do some good for her people.

At around the same time as Emma and Havok's arrival, but before Rachel and Cable really have a chance to react - in one of those wonderfully contrived but oh-so-effective coincidences - Carol Danvers and Abigail Brand show up, with some news of an unexpected visitor at the Peak (or whatever the current, post-Secret Empire space station base is) who is demanding to see 'the once-and-future Phoenix'. Carol is also here for another reason: it seems she's grown disillusioned and fed up with the Avengers after two Civil Wars and a Secret Empire, and she realized that she hasn't felt like she had a family to turn to since she was with the X-Men as Binary. They see Emma, there's of course a bit of a melee full of boisterous posturing and scene chewing, maybe a sweet feat or two to add to the lists, and it all ends on an unsteady truce once the REASON for Emma's return is revealed and they agree to put aside their differences in order to find out if what they heard could possibly be true. Carol tells them that she had Abigail Brand keep tabs on Deathbird after their last meeting, and who should have shown up at the Peak the day before the cry hit Earth...? You guessed it.

So this crazy squad of wild cards, 'heroes', 'villains' and several shades of Grey (and Summers) take to the stars to discover the truth, and uncover obscure, long-forgotten corners of the Marvel cosmos, encounter old and new threats and allies, discover shocking secrets that affect the whole Marvel Universe, but not in a way that demands a stupid multi-title crossover. More like...the entire run leads to a major mini/maxi series, self contained but with some acknowledgement from affected corners of the MU, but not a full derailment of other stories, though, because...screw that...

Oh, and their 'base of operations' on this mission is the Starjammer. Sikorski revives Cyclops, who wasn't actually dead, just MOSTLY dead. The Starjammers get a good laugh about how ridiculous Earth is, that it can't even handle a simple allergic reaction to Terrigen dust without it becoming another apocalypse. From there, the merry space pirates become the main support cast. Scott, Alex and their dad (and the kids!) get some real family bonding time. EVERYONE gets away from the drama of Earth for a while, which they ALL need. Emma and Scott can reconcile, or not, as long as Emma isn't written as pining away like a moon-eyed simpleton...Maybe Havok and Deathbird get into a...erm...well, a mutually angry...pairing? Because...come on...!! Isn't that Alex's type, anyway? Oh, and Cable, the grizzled old veteran, find that he's enjoying himself, having a family around him and a GOOD war to fight for the the first time in a long time.

Plus, in this team, you have a pretty full squad with members filling different roles - with some overlapping support and power - as needed. Scott, Alex, Rachel and Carol are all blasters, Scott, Emma, Abigail and Cable are ALL tactical powerhouses, Rachel, Emma and Cable are all telepaths and/or telekinetics to some extent, Carol and Emma can easily and happily fill the brick role, Abigail and Deathbird are both gloriously dirty-fighting scrappers (and Deathbird is an off-tank in her own right), Abigail and Cable are both tech and weapons, Cable is also a teleporter...

With Hickman as writer/plotter, I have every confidence that the story would hit all the right notes of awe and gravity that are a must in terms of high concept sci-fi, and could lead us on a wonderful trip into obscure areas of Marvel lore and continuity and drag up some things that are welcome returns...and some things perhaps better left in their shadows... With Jason Aaron (Another continuity and lore buff, I believe) as co-writer, he'd help balance out some of Hickman's perceived weaknesses (characterization, dour tone), ensuring that the characters would have their unique, recognizeable voices and a lighter tone than Hickman's Avengers run (which, for the record, I treat like a Bible. I LOVED that run, myself, but I know others had issues with it). Throw in Russell Dauterman on art - that guy is blowing me AWAY on Mighty Thor - and give the series time to settle in without involving it in any events or crossovers (though meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy, or encountering the Royals on THEIR quest, or other cosmic touchstones is fine, of course, if done sparingly). It's an X-Men book, but one that places CORE characters squarely in the heart of the greater Marvel Universe, and brings together all kinds of threads from stories past; ties to space, magic, the multiverse...all that stuff that made the Claremont years so much FUN.

Something I worked on a few weeks ago, but never ended up finishing properly, figured I'd post it here anyway.

X-Queens
A six part miniseries that deals primarily with three different intersecting stories following the current activities and whereabouts of the three former prominent Hellfire Queens, with all three fallen from grace and having lost their positions of power.
It laid out in a similar fashion to Mystic Arcana, with three initial stories being standalone, but intersecting towards the end of each issue and culminating in a final 1-2 crossover issues where the Queen's find themselves thrust together and must put their hatred of each other aside to defeat a foe.

The Red Queen - Madelyne Pryor
The Black Queen - Selene Galio
The White Queen - Emma Frost
And introducing:
The Grey Queen - Tessa


Across Issues 1-4
Each story contains flashbacks to their time in the Hellfire Club which may contain cameo appearances by the others but all contain mysterious inaccuracies that the Queen's cannot figure out why.
The Hellfire flashbacks will be accompanied by self reflection and flashbacks of recent defeats / shortcomings -
Emma's 'exile' from the X-Men, Selene's death and defeat during Necrosha and Madelyne's failed stints in the Sisterhoods of Mutants.
Upon reflection, each queen feels as though they've been manipulated somehow and there was something more behind their failures than just being foiled by the X-Men.

Issues 1/2 - Madelyne and Selene
Selene and Madelyne, who had last been seen working together, reunite at some point and blame each other for altering their memories of the Hellfire club, upon realizing that they have the problem - they conclude it must be Emma Frost who did it and set out to find her.

Issue 3 - Emma Frost
Emma is in hiding after IvX and/or whatever happens to her in Secret Empire and is slowly discovering the same thing, choosing to stay exclusively in her diamond form as her advanced telepathy and her newfound time alone has allowed her to realize that -something- has been playing with her memories, and her mind for a long time.
Emma runs through potential possibilities - The Cuckoos? The Manipulation goes back further than their birth. Xavier? He was long dead and his dirty secrets had already been aired. Jean? Teen Jean? Madelyne?
As she begins to suspect Madelyne, she's rudely interrupted by the arrival of Madelyne and Selene, who begin to attack Emma.
After a fight scene with plenty of dialog, both spoken and unspoken, the three come to realize the truth that they are all in the same boat and begrudgingly work together to psychically determine the point of origin.
Together they figure out that the only other person with telepathic based abilities who was in the Hellfire Club with all three of them at the pinpointed point of origin was Tessa Aka Sage.
Sage had been secretly working for Xavier as a spy and had received advanced telepathic training directly from him and for years hid under the noses of all three of them as an assistant. It is possible she could be behind it.
With Sage's whereabouts being unknown for some time, The three of them mentally project themselves as the Stepford Cuckoos and infiltrate the X-Mansion to find Sage's whereabouts, using cerebro or whatever mutant tracker is currently canon. With an awkward encounter potentially with another telepath, maybe teen jean or Quentin possibly occurring.
With her location now in their possession they rapidly leave the mansion potentially after being discovered by the real Cuckoos who chastise their 'mother' for joining a 'Sisterhood of Mutants'. Madelyne finds this amusing. Emma does not. Selene wants to kill the three of them to ensure nobody follows but finds the thing inside her mind stopping her from being unable to, feigning a change of heart and keeping this a secret she urges the three of them to find the cause of this issue and they leave.
Madelyne casts a teleportation spell, taking the three of them to Sage's reported location

Issue 4 - Sage
Tessa's issue picks up following her return from her last Multiversal journey in X-Termination, where she decides to take a break and have some downtime to figure out something that had been troubling her.
It then follows her history with Xavier and the Hellfire club's early days in some flashbacks, except her technopathic computer brain appears to be attempting to reconstruct missing data chunks of memory, caused by a 'virus' her mind had quarantined behind a psychic firewall many years before.
The blank patches she finds stem back to the very start of her training with Xavier and subsequent operations in the Hellfire Club. These missing data chunks also appear to be responsible for why she was so easily taken over by the Diana Fox persona.
One of the flashbacks shows a personal conversation where Shaw jokes with Tessa about how she'd always been there by his side and how he valued her more than any of the Queens that came and went with each incarnation, jokingly giving her the title of The Grey Queen of Hellfire.
Her mind's auto-firewall, kicks in suddenly when she attempts to remember the early interactions with Mastermind in the early days of the club, leading her to believe there must be some sort of correlation.
One by one she begins to override and disable the firewalls around some more recent memories, discovering fragments of memories showing herself mind linking with Emma, Selene and Madelyne during their respective stints as Hellfire Queens.
Thinking Mastermind was to blame and somehow got past her psychic shielding - she lowers the firewalls around the memories of him but is horrified as she discovers something else.
We don't see what it is, but she packs her bags and departs the X-Men. She spots Emma on the way and hurriedly avoids her as she departs.

Issues 5 - Mastermind
In the penultimate issue - Somewhere between snarky dialog, the three arrive at an isolated warehouse with a number of High-Tech Defences that the three of them manage to dispatch.
Once inside, they discover Sage unconscious hooked up to a number of Computers and Machines - seemingly keeping her body alive while she remains comatose.
Selene suggest they kill her and be done with it, however Madelyne wants to get to the bottom of things and Emma deems Sage worthy of a chance to explain herself. Each attempts to telepathically break into Sage's mind, however they are unable to get past her psychic defences and find their telepathic powers aren't as powerful as they once were.
Selene brings up that she was unable to kill the Cuckoos earlier, which angers Emma, but the three of them eventually conclude they should attempt together as Sage should not be able to withstand the three of them. They unplug the machines that could have been aiding her and enter her mind, with Emma dropping her Diamond form.
Inside Sage's mind, the three of them find themselves as digitally represented Avatars - Each in their respective Hellfire outfits as Queens. The attack the various layers of firewall defenses and unlock fragments of Tessa's memories, including those of her psychically linking with them and eventually uncovering her interaction with Mastermind.
They watch on as the memory plays before them, Jason using his powers manipulate the mind of what he thought was simply Shaw's aide to gain an upper hand on Shaw. Knowing that the supposed perpetrator of their problem is long dead, the three argue about what to do about the situation. Emma suggests that they take down the final firewall as it may reveal what exactly Sage did to their minds.
Together they bring down the final firewall only to have Sage's psyche appear next to them as Tessa shouting out in warning for them to stop. Selene and Madelyne proceed, while Emma hesitates. The Firewall comes down and a flood of memories play.
Tessa looks on aghast as memories of Xavier psychically training Sage reveal that in the early day of their fellowships something that had been following Xavier since its defeat had seen his new protege and decided to claim her for it's own.
The Shadow King - Now revealed is seen psychically attacking Sage from the Astral plane with imbuing in her mind a newly separated part of his being, knowing full well that her mind would now safely quarantined it away from even Xavier's prying thoughts. Mastermind's later attempted assault had weakened the barrier and allowed the Shadow King to assert control over Tessa at times, manipulating her into spreading his essence into the powerful telepaths she would further encounter - the other Hellfire Queens.
The issue ends with the four of them trapped inside Sage's mind facing the newly freed and reformed part of the Shadow King which having spent so long living inside them has taken on the traits of the four of them - dubbing itself The Shadow Queen.

Issue 6 - Shadow King/Queen
In the sixth and final issue, the Queen's find themselves each individually ripped out of Sage's mind and jolted back into their own, where they find themselves trapped inside their own minds.
In the real world, the four queen's bodies are possessed and are in full control of the Shadow Queen, as he sets out to wreak havoc on the world.
Trapped inside their own minds, the Queens each can only watch as their four forms do the Shadow Queen's bidding as they fight their inner demons which the Shadow Queen throws at them.
After spending so long as part of each of their Psyche he knows exactly which of their buttons to push to leave them overwhelmed and unable to succeed.
Emma finds herself trapped watch Scott, the Hellions and the other Cuckoos die and over and over, Selene finds herself powerless and unnoteworthy, completely forgotten after her demise. etc
Each of the Queen holds onto their last bastion of control in their mind so stubbornly - as the Shadow Queen knew each of their powerful personalities would.
Emma comes to terms with her grief and lets go of her control - something the Shadow Queen didn't account for and without her own defences up this allows Emma to hear Sage's thoughts giving her instructions.
Due to her much longer exposure to Farruk, Sage managed to help Emma erect a firewall in her mind to give them a modicum of control. The two of them manage to reach out to Madelyne and Selene and convince them to let go of their last bit of control.
With nothing left to lose the four link minds and attempt to beat back The Shadow Queen.
Unexpecting this rebellion and sensing an impending defeat, the Shadow Queen uses its last grips of control to use the magical abilities of Madelyne to enhance and reverse the life absorption powers of Selene, using parts of the life essence and DNA of the four women to creating a new vessel for itself.
Returning to their bodies, the Queen's find themselves facing the newly formed being and focus their remaining energy to attack it. The Shadow Queen decides that discretion is the better part of valor and flees.
Left alone with each other and standing amongst the strife caused by the Shadow Queen's outgoings in their bodies, the four hastily part ways.

With a heavy heart, Jubilation Lee takes a sabbatical from her duties, leaving her child and students in the hands of her various X-Friends. She cannot allow them to be in danger from others, no matter how in control of her abilities she has become.

Dealing with her grief, she at first heads to the dark underworld of the Marvel Universe to fight the very creatures that she is feared to resemble. From zombies to vampires and demons in between, Jubilee unleashes her anger at the world by fighting them one by one... until she runs into Blade. Recognizing her as the long-time daughter figure to Logan and also veteran member of the X-Men, he hesitates to kill her and instead offers her assistance. With her anger subsided, Jubilee utilizes the help from Blade and her vast connections in the Marvel Universe... seeking out a cure to her vampirism and a resurgence of her pyrokinetic mutant powers.
Seeking out everything from magical mists to Doctor Strange, to Scarlet Witch and even alien technology, Jubilee is hell-bent on reclaiming her mortality. Will her many allies be able to help her, no matter how difficult the odds? Will the former mall-rat turned vampire-mom regain her 'spark?' Will she be able to mother her child and mentor her younger allies in peace once again?

Towards the end they'll discover that the anomaly was Selene, Madelyn, and a new villian combining they're power magic in order to affect and weaken the planes allowing them to merge together in order for goblins to be unleashed making them the rulers. Then when the fighting said and done it will end with are four X-Men back alive.

Sabretooth by Gerry Duggan and Carlos Pacheco

Sabretooth travels across America in his suped up car (from the 70s) and hunts "monsters" aka criminals such as sex traffickers, serial rapists, and other stuff. As the series goes on, his methods become more and more like his villain days until it ends with him becoming a savage beast once more, the inversion spell having worn off.

Gambit by Charles Soule, Matthew Rosenberg, and Alex Maleev

While on a heist, Gambit comes across the deed to important bit of property in a plan to revitalize New York led by Wilson Fisk. Fisk and the other leaders of the criminal underworld will do anything to get that deed and so Gambit has to spend the longest night of his life dodging everyone from Diamondback to Kingpin and Black Cat to Tombstone.

Xavier leads Psylocke, Wolverine, Gambit, Bishop, Rogue, and Angel in protecting mutantkind from a world that hates and fears them (spinning out of Astonishing X-Men).

I have a million ideas, but I figure this is a good start.

X-Men Silver:
With the Secret Empire decimated, and New Tian having collapsed in the aftermath, Emma Frost must look for power elsewhere. And so the White Queen assembles a formidable team of X-Men she believes she can use to her advantage, who will fight alongside her and eradicate those who pose a threat to the Children of the Atom. In addition, Emma Frost returns to Hellfire, using its power and sphere of influence to turn the tides. And the reformation of the Hellions (albeit a different incarnation) promises an alternative approach to the dream of Charles Xavier. But as the White Queen prevails, the return of Selene and Madelyne Pryor must be dealt with, or else she risks losing everything she's fought so hard to gain.

eXiles:
A mysterious individual brings together X-Men from across the multiverse with the goal of traversing different realities and helping/healing them in whatever way they can. But these individuals aren't very like minded, and the tasks they've been set are suspicious. Who are the eXiles working for, and what do they hope to gain? The cast would be as follows (though keep in mind, like the original eXiles, the roster is subject to change:
