Couldn't have said it, any better. I miss this Donna.
This Donna honored the best of what made Wonder Woman so cool, but, without the tiara and the flag and bare flesh, ..she wasn't the epic, inspiring figure Diana is, on sight. She wasn't a warrior goddess. Donna was inspiring in a more intimate and interpersonal way, because, among the restless, volatile youth, ..she was uncharacteristically steady, for one so young. Donna was the rock, we could cling to, in a storm.
The Wonder-angel concept, on a smaller stage. Small towns, small villages...maybe, smaller stories.
I think that's got to be her role. While Diana rushes into dark, oppressed places and rouses entire worlds to higher ideals, Donna flies into smaller places, just as dark, ..and uplifts the human heart. Her best role might unfold or take shape in smaller, character-driven or human interest stories - abused women, racial violence, oppressed laborers, animal exploitation, lost children. Just when you think no one can save you or knows your suffering, in the depths of despair, ..here comes Donna, into a factory fire or , renewing your hope! With a hug ..and a 'gonna be okay, hon'.
That's our Donna.
