What journey? He gets shot up by his own tech and that miraculously has him limitedly turning against his job. Then the rest of the movie is one of those biker build reality shows.

GotG movies are the definition of an action comedy.

You just oversimplified the shit out of Ironman that like saying BvS is about an asshole who realizes hes an.asshole after alien dies.

Guadians of the Galaxy movies have more character development and growth then any of the DCEU movies so im lost on how your saying somehow action comedys arent about the person or persons. gOTG action comedy 100% but like all good action comedys there is drama and Charatcer development.

DC and Marvel deal with superheroes.

There is stuff like Sin City, Dredd, The Crow, Heavy Metal, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Oldboy (2003), Riki-Oh Story of Ricky, Ichi the Killer, Road to Perdition, History of Violence, Ghost World, American Splendor, Fritz the Cat and more that don't deal with superheroes.

I asked, what was the journey? So what is the journey?
He got shot up by his own tech, he got kidnapped to build tech to be used against people and now he is all like, "woah, by tech kills people?" Then the rest of the movie is him building suits. Stane is there for like five minutes to set up he is bad and he then randomly pops out with the Iron Monger suit.

Character development in GotG is some one telling you something about themselves. That's not that much development. That's really just getting to know the characters.

We know Yondu cared for SL from the first movie. All the second movie did is tell us a bit more about what he was doing to get SL.

Road to Perdition and History of Violence were published by DC.

He starts the movie as a self-absorbed playboy who is ignorant to anything his company does, and ends the movie willing to sacrafice his life to right those wrong. Yea he lived when the they overloaded the arc reactor but that wasnt what he thought would happen when he told pepper to push the button. Inbetween he makes the first suit just to save himself, then he trys track down his weapons to clear his own conscience, and ends when him declaring hes Ironman and becoming a superhero.

Yea Yandu didnt do anything he just told us how he felt lol

It's a pretty simple distinction I think. Others have already summed it up. Just because a movie is based on a comic book doesn't mean it's based on a superhero.

Whiteout is a movie based on a comic written by Greg Rucka. No superheroes. 30 Days of Night is a movie based on a comic book. It has vampires, but no superheroes. And then there are superhero movies that aren't based on comics. Meteor Man, My Super Ex-girlfriend, and Unbreakable are examples.
