The average grade of the reviews of the pilot so far of the Fall new shows with 7 reviews in for The Gifted so far. Anything above a 7 out of 10 is rated a hit.

not really keen on all this internet stuff but the last so called review made me cringe. over serious tone? what did they expect for an x-men related stuff? goes to show ho much harm MCU has done to the comic book genre.

some people who dont know comics live action all think comic is just fluff generic fun like the mcu movies.

Well, I guess that's good to hear. I'm not expecting anything more than a junky but entertaining cable show.

Critical reviews don't really affect if I'm going to watch but it's nice for the success of the show of course broadly speaking, could help it with a second season and so on. Or other shows

The social network has changed things for TV and movies and early reviews. Early bad reviews can seriously hurt sales of a movie or viewership of a TV show out of the starting gate in a way their ability to so was vastly more limited even 10 or 15 years ago.

Positive reviews certainly don't guarantee the long term success of a TV show. Positive reviews can also create a positive narrative for a show going in that can build on itself and create real forward momentum going in.

In today's media environment going in a show or film can be buried or near to it before it's gets started on early reviews alone. It can also be granted several million people willing to give it a chance many of who if they like it may stick around at least for a few episodes.

Reviews, buzz, word of mouth... JMC's right, it's all connected now, WAY more than ever before. Like it or not, a consensus is formed, and a narrative is born. And while it may not always make or break, it can hamper hype & dampen enthusiasm, when it's largely negative. So usually, bad reviews don't help any given project, but hinder it. There are anomalies though, when there are disconnects sometimes, between the various parties involved.

Thank you kindly, JMC, for bringing all this X-cellent early word of mouth to our attention. I for one, MUCH appreciate it, and find it GREATLY encouraging! Think it's a REALLY good sign actually, that's indicative of its overall X-pertise in presentation, which bodes VERY well for it's future.

They had a pilot screening last night and will have an open panel with the show runner and a few actors this afternoon.

From the shows first trailer release to now the overall marketing strategy and effort has been quite strong. The marketing campaign isn't ebbing either and they will have a far easier time riding the waves of good reviewing buzz then having to fight against the waves of average reviews or worse.

They would love nothing better to have the next Game of Thrones or Walking Dead and if they feel increasingly certain they have it in the making their generosity will grow. How many show up for the first episode and stick around for the second and third will in the end matter the most to the network to if they think they have a massive hit, a sleeper hit, a solid to ok performing show or a disappointment.

Beautiful Dreamer will be introduced in episode 2 and is played by Elena Satine.

Bummed that she isn't going to be playing Siryn, but the character is an interesting and obscure pick. She's supposed to be involved in a love triangle with Thunderbird, but I don't know who else would be part of that equation. Blink?

Glad to hear this show is getting such positive buzz. FOX has been doing great with the side movies, and the tv shows. Now they need to fix the main movies, and the XMEN will be on top.
