One of my all time favorite series ever. Always had some of the best art at DC whether it was Grell or Jurgens. Was my introduction to one of my all time favorite artists, Jan Duursema (still have an image of Jennifer Morgan with her massive white hair all around her in my head.) All the way up to Joe Prado and Chad Hardin. Amazing artists all.
Then we get the characters. Grell certainly knew how to design sexy characters from Travis himself and his little bitty loin cloth to Shakira and Jennifer.

I do wish that DC would try again with this series but forget the last one. It was an interesting concept to pass the torch to Travis' son but he's not the Warlord. The one book I would be fine with rebooting is this one. Just start over with Travis landing and rediscovering everyone.

I wouldn't mind seeing The Warlord turn up in Justice League Dark or Constantine. I think Travis would make a good foil for John! I wouldn't mind seeing Jennifer Morgan join Justice League Dark. In fact JLD should have at least one adventure in Skartaris.

Firestorm may have been more recent but had fewer issues.

Yes, Mike Grell's Classic Warlord series was a fantastic sword & sorcery series that had superb art & a great storyline.

And, this is yet another comic series that needs to be reprinted in color. Years ago, I got out a Trade from the local library that reprinted some of the issues in color; I think this trade came out in the early '90's & is long OOP. Other than that, this series has only been reprinted in a b&w Showcase.

Here's a link to some of the great covers:

My introduction to the character was on an episode of JLU. When Stargirl & Stripes went to Skartaris. The character reminds me of the old Conan comics I used to read. My uncle has the issue where Travis appears in Mike Grell's Green Arrow. Modern media is proof that there is a market for a character like Warlord. Make it happen Didio.

    Mike Grell at his best!

Warlord had great characters, stories and of course art.

"History of the DC Universe" by Wolfman and Perez, when the DCU use to make sense.
