Blue vs Gold

We're about 3 issues in. The first arcs are over. So what's the verdict so far? Of the two, which one is your favorite and why?

For me it's Blue. It's been a while since I can say this about an x-book, but I'm always eagerly waiting the next issue.

The team dynamics, Jean's portrayal as a capable leader yet still learning leader, the genuine surprises with Bastion, and various underlying subplots like the Blackbird, Hank's magic use, and Magneto's ulterior motives all have me hooked.

As much as I dislike the idea of the time stranded O5 the book just reads better to me. Bunn never fails to impress me with his Magneto and I'm a sucker for throwback villains done right. His O5 characterization is on point as well. Jean finally admitted to being a nasty chicken head so I like her a little bit more.

Easy choice, here. Blue hands down.

That said, I'm enjoying Gold so far. I think people are a little overly harsh towards Gold just because Blue is so appealing but I like Gold just fine.

They can only pretend that they don't need/want each other for so long.

Well, i'm more partial to gold; the only one of the o5 that interests me right now is beast.

The only reason I am going with Gold is because the Blue team to me is bland with the O5. Gold has a much more interesting lineup, I just wish Guggenheim would give Storm her due and use her powers creatively.

LOL, for me, powers are 60% of the reason I buy comics and story/character development is 40% (granted, 40% is still huge). If all I cared about was story and character development and not powers, then I'd just stick with Shakespeare. Honestly, I want good stories where the team face villains that are an actual threat to them in battle, and I want to see Storm kick butt and take names with exciting applications of her powers.

I refuse to read anything with Guggenheim on it, and I'm a new fan so I'm really liking Blue so I'm voting for that.

Blue vs Gold is like Jeen vs Kitty. Right now that's an easy choice. Blue it is.

Besides, where else am I going to find Scott (and don't say Champions cause that book was too much).
