Why would you hope that? Gail's run on Batgirl has veered from awful to almost OK to, in recent months, just plain boring. Gail writing Cass, or even worse, Steph... ugh, that's a horrible, horrible idea.

Which means it'll probably happen.

I hope this means the rumors about other series Stewart's name was attached too, that surfaced around the time rumors of this happening did - Birds of Prey with Batwoman, Spoiler, Black Bat and Bluebird - are also true.

Regarding "never trust 4chan," they were only a part of the rumor.

Cameron Stewart's Twitter feed was hyping a big announcement and he was being coy over the Cassandra Cain questions.

But I agree, this rumor deflation is very disappointing for Cass fans.

I've learned my lesson and will believe Cass is back when she actually *appears* in an issue as Cassandra Cain.

A lighter tone for Babs could be nice and I hope Steph gets her own title or stars in Gotham Academy. Just one more Batgirl to go ...

Nope. Sorry, nope. Barbara doesn't work for me as Batgirl. Cass and Steph blew her out of the water in that department. LOVED her as Oracle, though.

Stewart and Fletcher should have quashed the Cass rumours before they got out of hand and led to a bunch of disappointed fans. I won't read anything by either of them in the future because of this.

That's naive. Creators have NDAs that don't allow them to openly comment. I'm sorry that they didn't want to risk losing their jobs so you could avoid getting your hopes up on a rumor you found on an image board full of sociopaths and weirdos.

Just when I thought Birds of Prey couldn't get any worse. Three characters I personally find to be boring and/or unlikable and one relatively new character(Harper) that I haven't found anything interesting about yet. I guess my love for BoP will remain in pre-Flashpoint.

Actually, I don't even know what 4Chan is. I read the rumour here. And commenting that it's not Cassandra is not the same thing as announcing what the book really is.
