I've had some thoughts about this recently and have revised my list. It's all the Star Wars movies I've seen.
1. The Force Awakens
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. The Last Jedi
4. Attack of the Clones
5. A New Hope
6. Revenge of the Sith
7. Solo
8. Rogue One
9. Return of the Jedi
10. The Phantom Menace

3. Rogue One
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. A New Hope
6. The Force Awakens
7. The Last Jedi
8. Solo
9. Attack of the Clones
10. The Phantom Menace
This thread has surprisingly been fairly diverse in terms of rankings. I wasn't expecting that.
1. Return of The Jedi- Loved this as a kid and still love it today. The barge scene is one of my favorite Star Wars moments.
2. Empire Strikes Back- This film by far has the best score and Williams outdid himself with several cues: The Asteroid Field, Yoda's Theme, etc.
3. Revenge Of The Sith- I am a massive Obi Wan fan and I love this film because of Ewan's performance. If this film is on TV, I will sit and watch especially the last battle.
4. The Last Jedi- Love old hermit Luke, love Poe in the beginning , & love the throne room lightsaber battle with Rey & Kylo. However, the mary poppins Leia scene was quite cringe worthy.
5. A New Hope- Great film but I don't re-watch it near as much as the ones above it.
6. The Force Awakens- it's fun but I don't enjoy it as much as I did when it came out.
7. The Phantom Menace- Overall it's a terrible film, BUT it still has my favorite lightsaber battle in all of Star Wars and pair that with Williams' Duel of The Fates.......pure awesome!
8. Attack of The Clones...........not much to say about this film as this is one I truly do not like, it's long, it's dull, but I do like when Yoda kicks Dooku's butt.
I'm not including the one shot spin offs but I truly hated Rogue One. The characters are not likeable and the only moment I enjoyed was when Darth Vader slaughtered the rebels. THAT was the Vader we were told to fear!
Overall, I enjoyed Solo but it's fairly forgettable with the exception of John Powell's excellent score for the film.

Well, as i posted my list before the last farce was released, here's the new and shiny updated version :
1 - A New Hope
2 - The Empire Strikes Back
3 - Rogue One
3 - Return of the Jedi
4 - A New Hope, The Remake
5 - Solo
6 - Revenge of the Sith
7 - Attack of the Clones
8 - The Phantom Menace.
9 - The Last Ryan Johnson's Star Wars Movie
1. Return of the Jedi
2. A New Hope
3. The Empire strikes Back
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. Solo
6. Rogue One
7. The Force Awakens
8. The Phantom Menace
9. Attack of the Clones
10.The Last Jedi.
1. IV - I hate the retcon name of "New Hope." Other than that this movie was pure magic, especially to my eight year old self as I was when I first saw it.
2. Empire - the gaping plot holes bother me more, for instance Luke at most trained for all of a 2-3 days with Yoda, but overlooking those its a great movie.
3. Force Awakens - great overall movie. Rey is awesome.
4 Solo - very enjoyable movie with few flaws.
5. Rogue One - great movie. Only flaw is that it seems kind of fillerish.
6. Revenge of the Sith - acting and dialogue is a bit weak but the story is decent.
7. Attack of the Clones - utterly stupid name but decent movie the last half hour is great.
8. Last Jedi - the throne room scene with Kylo and Rey is great. The rest of the movie is garbage, especially how they wasted Finn on the utterly pointless Casino Planet storyline.
9. Return of the Jedi - Ewoks. Ugggh. This is where Star Wars obviously became more concerned with toy sales than telling a good story and went cutesy with the Ewoks to qualities detriment. It continued into the special editions and even rears its ugly head in the movies, Porgs anyone?
10. Phantom Menace - great lightsaber duel with Darth Maul at the end. Everything else sucked badly.
That came about in the re-release of Star Wars in 1981 after Empire was dubbed Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back in its opening craw (most were unsure that there were going be any other movies to start with), and has been on every home release. In other words you will never find a copy of it that doesn't have Episode IV: A New Hope on it unless you have the original film reels from the 70s'. And in the end it makes since, "I like Star Wars"..."Witch one?"... "No, the first one"..."The Phantom Menace?"... "No not that first one, the first one made"... "Oh A New Hope?"...."Yeah that one". Its just easier to say "I like A New Hope"

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting
Not quite. There was that 2008 DVD release that included the theatrical cuts as a bonus feature, including the original version of ANH. I should know, I've got a box set of that release myself.
Personally, I was never bothered by the subtitle and think that it makes the movie fit better with the others, but I did grow up watching the altered version.

Rewatched Prequels and Disney films over the last few days and I have changed my ranking from best to worst IMO.
1: Empire Strikes Back (Special Edition).
2: A New Hope (Original Version).
3: Return of the Jedi (Original Version).
4: Force Awakens.
5: Rogue One.
6: Solo.
7: The Phantom Menace.
8: Revenge of the Sith.
9: Attack of the Clones.
10: The Last Jedi.
It's pretty much the same cut of the film as the 1994 laserdisc....and pretty much in the same exact resolution, which upset a lot of fans who were hoping for a decent anamorphic DVD transfer. So before any major changes to the movies in the Special Editions/DVDs/Blu-rays.

Yeah, it had the original ending. It was packaged with the last revision before the "final" BluRay Special Edition, so you would get both. Bad news is that these editions are out of print and extremely spendy (round a hundred dollars just for that one movie, much more if you want all three to get the original versions for the entire trilogy) and used an old LaserDisc version of the original cuts as the source material that's not at DVD-level quality. Still, it is the only way to get those original cuts on DVD. Personally, I tend to just watch the BluRay Special Editions myself (I'm weird and like how continuity between the trilogies is tightened a bit), but I do like having access to the theatrical versions if and when I do want to watch them.

- Last Jedi
- RotJ
- RotS
- Rogue One
- tFA
- AotC
- Phantom Menace
It's pretty tight between RotJ and TLJ there. Between RotS and RO too. I haven't seen Solo. I have low expectations for the Rise of Skywalker, with JJ coming back.
It's made pretty clear he didn't finish his training, in fact that is an actual plot point , they even say it, you must complete your training. He fails in his vision, He's even warned about it.
Then ....he is handily defeated. He loses the truth he thought he knew, loses the high ground, loses the fight, and so he never forgets it, loses a freakin hand!
To forever remind you how much he was not ready.
That is the story.
So how is that a "gaping plot hole."? in a movie that explores and shows you the ramification of that very plot.
It's then even re-referenced again in the next movie.
"...unfortunate that you rushed to face him"
