Tobias is taking cues from Born Again.

I didn't expect Khalil to continue to get involved. He has his own issues with Tobias to resolve so I can see why he will still be around.

Does anybody else just not feel any chemistry between Grace and Anissa?

I mean, I like both characters individually, but whenever they claim that they are soooo in love.....I just don't see it. Maybe because Grace has been so underused in the past.

It definitely comes across as a forced relationship. Since it’s the last season, guess it doesn’t matter at this point.

I do wonder about the limits of her shape shifting abilities - seems like she only does the same human or animal forms.

Love new Jennifer though; comes across a lot more likeable than previous actress.

The show has done a poor job developing their relationship. Before this season they only used Grace whenever they wanted to pull Anissa from the main plot. Grace would vanish when it was time for Anissa to come back.

Well, then, I look forward to Tobias finding out as Kingpin did in the end that, "A man without hope . . . is a man without fear."

I bought into their relationship more prior to this season. After Grace woke up, Anissa was being a terrible partner - reacting badly to sharing "her" living space, not opening up to Grace when the Jennifer stuff was happening... she really put up walls and was acting like the typical stand-offish dude the second she actually got her back. They managed to work it out, but for me it just put Anissa in a bad light and I still think a bit poorly of her.

All that delaying to tell the family about the marriage and Anissa just tells them off-screen on a phone call. Well, at least it's over with and we got a party out of it. Well, before the FBI raided the house.

Was that FBI agent a Meta? It seemed like something was going on with his eyes when he was looking at the SWAT team.

So Tobias is trying to ruin Jefferson's reputation and steal everything away from him. Yeah, pretty "Born Again," although I don't see Jefferson reaching as low as Matt did since that was the beginning of the season.

Jennifer is going back to high school as JJ, although isn't she physically older than a high schooler? Although she still needs to finish her education, ethically, but her new love interest looks old enough to make more sense for her now than he would have when she still looked like Jennifer.

Y'know, it actually makes a lot of sense Tobias would have a Meta around that negates Meta powers. Although does it not effect him because he gets his abilities from a serum and isn't an organic Meta? And what was the plan? Have Lynn get her negation abilities and then attack the Pierces when they're all together and can't use their powers?

Tobias becoming a Trump analogue is becoming more and more obvious. Actually, he kind of looks like Jon Cryer's Lex Luthor, come to think of it.

Are they experimenting on kids with cystic fibrosis? What's the endgame here ?

Speaking of, Jenn sure didn't waste time moving on to a new guy. TC could tell how thirsty she was when she ditched him. New kid's introduction kind of reminded me of Brandon's first appearance. What ever happened to him? And you know if Tavon were here he would be leading the support for Jefferson at Garfield.

Anissa hasn't been wrecked that hard since Painkiller. They've definitely established Ishmael as a serious threat .

What exactly is up with JJ that Lynn was worried about? That her body isn't as stable as Jenn's was? Is that red flag that she's not exactly Jennifer? Or that her body isn't long for this world?

I was just thinking earlier this guy would make a great Lex!

Man, Tobias is really pulling out all the stops. What a jerk.

Considering how little Jeff in action we see this season, I do like the fight scenes with Anissa and Grace. Although it would be nice to know the extent and limitations of Grace's powers because they seemed based on what the plot needs.

So Khalil may not be done with Freeland and this show. I'm hoping this means we will get to see a reunion between him and Jen.

I just don't understand how something like this wasn't needed to be shown in the 90's but now all of a sudden on a lot of TV shows, it needs to be shown. And I don't think we always need to see a character's supporting cast interacting with all aspects of the main character's life.
I don't think we need to see a supporting cast interacting with every aspect of the main character's life (I liked how early Supergirl had the DEO and then CatCo, and James and Win didn't visit the DEO at all), but considering the need for a variety of characters, it's no surprise casts are larger these days.

Buffy certainly influenced Smallville (Chloe's "Wall of Weird" nearly made that a supernatural-type show), and by the time the CW started churning out superhero stuff, the formula was already proven to work. We don't see this kind of thing much for superhero shows outside the CW, though.

Yeah, this show has been a bit of a slog to get through. And it has been for awhile - it was never the most fun, upbeat show, but lately it's almost misery porn. I'm only watching this season because it's the last one so I might as well. I was hoping there'd be a sense of purpose in the final season, a sense of building towards the end with something at stake, but it's more family drama, Tobias making Jeff miserable, Jeff making his family miserable and vice-versa. Painkiller's "one man good cop/bad cop" routine is trite and hopefully not what his show will be like.

I like that the stakes are personal this season. After what happened last season they should have scaled things back.

The thing that's driving me crazy so far is: the Pierces know that they have a target on their backs, yet they keep waiting for the next thing to be sprung on them by Whale.
