Now that Bill Duke and Robert Townsend have guest roles on the show, hopefully they will get to direct some episodes.

I liked last season well enough, but I thought this premiere episode blew most of it out of the water. Lynn checking the ASA guy about her title was awesome. So was Anissa beating up those guys for the money.
"You're dead!"- Soldier
"You first"- Lightning, Final Fantasy XIII
"Yes, boo, cause this is Calvin Klein and I don't play that ****" - Tanisha
"You look like a fairy princess...that resides over the pits of hell." - New York
EFF THAT! Give Ms Fowdy her own show that woman is awesome! Her fight with Cyanide was totally unexpected and perfectly executed. Wow BL show ain't scared of the action and you can't go wrong with Bill duke and Robert Townsend. This might be the best episode yet.
I'm surprised Imdb gave Black Lightning 6.4/10. I personally feel it was underwhelming. The potrayal of Jefferson Pierce was a bit of a letdown. I don't know what I expected but I expected more. Hopefully season 2 re-ignites my interest.
So since it's been a few days, who's everyone think Issa is?
I'm leaning towards Jakeem Williams aka Jakeem Thunder... but that's mostly me hoping so far.
Maybe. Would that explain why he suddenly came back to life though?
I am half-expecting Static Shock to appear, with the "Green Light Babies" (Bang Babies), electric based powers, and a show centered around black heroes.
I also wouldn't say no to a cameo by John Stewart.
Indeed it doesn't make sense...if we think Issa's power is being a walking truth serum.
What if he's...a walking wish fulfiller? Family and friends surrounding him wishing he didn't die... and suddenly he's alive and kicking... he wants to know what's going on and forces the truth of what his mom feels with no filter...
