Post Star Wars: The Last Jedi Cast Arrives On Four Vanity Fair Covers

Vanity Fair has unveiled four covers featuring the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, including a touching portrait of the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa.

A follow-up to famed photographer Annie Leibovitz’s 2015 shoot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the images also depict Daisy Ridley as Rey and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker on Ahch-To (aka Skellig Michael, Ireland); Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren; and Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, John Boyega as Finn, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, and BB-8 as himself.

Read more about the covers here.

Was hoping for a new shot of Rey ... but a full look at Rose and Kylo is nice!

Phasma's look here also confirms a recent report about her having a spear weapon and appearing helmetless. Neat that they're given her more to do I think.

Rose appearing with Finn and Poe (Poe BTW seems to be wearing a very Han-esque jacket) kind of confirms that she' sort of the "Lando" of the film, a new lead character joining the group.

I think she looks a lot more cool with the helmet on

I'm willing to buy the issue just for that cover, but I wish it will be available later as a poster or print.

There's been several photos released from the issue, including first looks at Laura Dern and Del Toro's characters, Luke and Leia, and a fancy party. It's confirmed that Dern is playing a "Vice admiral" although it's unclear what faction it is (I'm guessing perhaps Republic, and maybe Leia meets with her to convince the Republic to join with the resistance since the destruction of Hosnian prime).

Of course, it's possible a lot of these are just intended as photo ops, and some stuff may not appear in the final film. In VF's 1998 issue there was a photo of Obi-Wan fighting Maul on Tatooine, which never happened in the movie (Although it recently did happen in Rebels).

Last time I saw Laura Dern was in Jurassic Park. Yep, two decades ago. I'll be interested to see how she's aged.

I didn't buy the issue, but if someone has, can you please post the scans here? Thank you

Thank you for that link. Loved reading all of that. And there's a lot of info to glean from it:

    spoilers:
Sounds like the scene in 'The Last Jedi' where Leia is slapping Luke might mean one of two things:
    1. Leia is angry that Luke didn't stop Kylo when he had the chance instead of just walking away from everything and therefor, Han ended up dying as a result of his inaction. OR
    2. Leia is angry with Luke because he doesn't want to train Rey or open up another Jedi academy for new students to carry on the tradition.

Either way, my hope is that Luke DOES open up a Jedi academy and begins training new students in the way of the Jedi, including Rey.
    end of spoilers

Also, how cool would it be to an actor in a SW movie and be able to sit in the Millennium Falcon?
