I have little to no faith in this film. There's no source material connecting Black Cat and Silver Sable, who aren't even great characters to begin with.

Uh, they have similar hair.

It's like the "Martha" thing from BvS. That worked, right?

I think Felicia and Sable are great and compelling characters in their own right, I'm just not sure how well they can carry their own movie without Spider-Man.

Maybe this means Felicia will have a Face Turn by next year and no more Queenpin of Crime.

The most interesting thing is that Chris Yost is writing it and I really liked his Scarlet Spider.

Adaptations make up stuff that wasn't in the source material all the time. Most superhero films and tv shows aren't straightforward adaptations any way so and well, your view on Sable and Felicia is not shared by all.
