I think it's a lot easier to "punish" a smaller state like N.C. or A.Z. than TX.

Going strictly by size of the state seems like a weird metric to base this upon.

I'm not sure that this is a better metric to look at
(I'm no economist), but Texas seems...middle of the pack? Still, above AZ and NC.

In terms of per capita sure but I just mean overall size of Texas's population and economy. Like you know how everyone always says if California was a country it would be #8 or whatever? Same is true for Texas just not quite that high. Texas is I believe right up there with New York in terms of its overall economy.

In that case, AZ and NC still aren't far behind TX.

Again, not an economist. Just wondering how you're coming to the conclusion that it would be "a lot easier".

texas certainly can be punished and with extreme prejudice.

tourism is a big industry for them, and afaik they were really anticipating getting some of the filming industry $$ perks as well

i'm pretty sure Texas doesn't really care. smaller states might rely on income from film companies, but Texas has got a lot going on

This all assumes that there's an industry to employ them once they graduate.
