Speaking of Judas Priest, I grew up in the 80's so even though I knew they'd been around for years, it's sometimes a little jarring when I see video of them pre-leather...

Back in school my friend bought this record and at the time we were into hardcore punk and what not, but we liked Motorhead and Maiden somewhat and thought this was going to be like that. He put it on and we were like, "WTF is this?" Satan was not scary to us so we just thought a lot of the lyrics were just funny. The production was so raw and we thought, was this to make it sound more evil? And what's with all this grunting? But Venom opened the door for a hundred bands that followed ( for good or bad).

Happy 4th!
Fun Fact: For a very short moment, Blackie Lawless was actually in the New York Dolls.
The Guitar player is female Angus!
The best known track from what was undoubtedly my favourite Metal album of 2018, in fact best album overall regardless of genre. The brilliant Prequelle by the genius' Ghost:
Metal Mondays

Orianthi is probably best known for being in Michael Jackson's band before he passed away and then touring with Alice Cooper. Here she is shredding with Steve Vai.
