Probably the best part of Morrison's Bat epic.

I'm also fond of the Island of Mr. Mayhew arc, it stands alone too.

I don't know about reading Batman and Robin alone - it could work, especially if you don't want to buy all those books, but I will say that the end of B+R was probably the most satisfied I've ever been reading a comic. It came together so perfectly, and that happened because of the earlier stuff, so I'd recommend it all. But, if you KNOW you're not going to read the earlier stuff, it's possible to read on its own.
