Does the potential of a "Wolverine: Battle for the Cowl" story appeal to you?

Like i said, "when you strip away his personality" I didn't mean to imply he was a bad character. The point is that his role at a base level is one that doesn't require filling, he doesn't have a schtick in the same way that Batman does with his protector of Gotham angle. His appeal derives from his personality and history and such, things that simply can't be replaced with another character.

Yes and no. Yes because we get to see different characters try to live up to Wolverine ideals. As well as read characters that may have been in limbo for much of the time. No because in the end Wolverine will come back from the dead making any Battle for the Cowl story useless imo.

This. I loved Daken playing the part of Wolverine in Dark Avengers/X-Men, and I bet if he's around he'd love to take it up again, to really try and desecrate Logan's memory - which could inspire X-23 and Jubilee to try and take on Logan's position as a means of preserving his/Wolverine's reputation. Otherwise, I don't really see Laura being the type to try and keep up the Wolverine legacy, given how hard and long she's worked at being/becoming something more than Logan's clone.
