If this were true, wouldn't this not bode well for Storm and Jean's solos?

It really doesn't. Storm and Jean are iconic characters and established names in the franchise, but neither is a solo book success story. I don't see the Jean solo lasting past a year, I just think NYX will get canceled/demoted to mini status first.

Yes.

The best anyone can hope for in the short times most Marvel comics last, especially solos for characters who had not maintained a series for decades at this point, is that they will be enjoyable while they last.

But all too often the art and writing doesn't even seem to deliver on that. Fingers crossed Jean and Ororo to not fall into that trap.

^^ This. I hope for their fans that they both have long (good) runs, but sadly I don't see either being sustainable long term in the current market.

I think an X-23 solo would actually sell better and last longer than NYX in the current market.

Name it Wolverine: X-23 and watch it outsell all the other solos except Wolverine.

Let's not bury the book yet.
You COULD compare it to Children of the atom, but the cast is way stronger and the concept way more appealing to me.
Fallen Angels failed mainly because the writer had to leave. The book was kinda bad too.

It's not a matter of quality, it just feels like Fallen Angel in the Krakoa era, it will be the first title to be canceled.

What makes you say that? They haven’t given any info about Wolverine or Storm either, which are also series not launching in July. I’m sure we’ll get more about those books next month when they’re on to the August solicits.

I was not expecting this to a QC pic since Cyclops was on the first half. Cute picture, though DNA is cartoony. Glad to see Emma in one of her better and era appropriate uniforms. This is another artist who can't handle Storm's hair.

I get get sad seeing images like these. I have such fond love of this era and it is ending so poorly.
