So Pepe Larraz is doing a creator-owned book with Mark Millar.
Guess we won’t see him in the X-books again so soon

More like Netflix-owned so that's as corporate as it gets LOL. But yeah Pepe is probably done with the X-Men for the foreseeable future :/

Ugh. I haven’t enjoyed anything by Millar since Old Man Logan.

I always found him quite limited as a writer although he did create a few interesting comics in his career. Hats off to him though on his choice of artists, his Millarworld stuff always features the best of the best.

I think that’s part of why he bugs me. Not only do I find his stuff unappealing these days, but he also regularly snags the artists I’m really enjoying from Marvel too.

Interview with Ben Percy on Wolverine #24-26 with some preview art: https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/be...y-interview/#7

Those preview pages by Federico Vicentini look damn good!

Go get that (creator-owned) Netflix money, Pepe! Just come back to us when you're done!
Even before Netflix, Millar had the cash and long term prospects of multimedia adaptations to grab the best artists for his work. I dislike dislikable antiheroes, thus I dislike much of his work, and can't enjoy the great art.

I read his Magic Order volume 2 because of the Immonen art and positive reviews... and it was dark as expected but it ended mostly happily. I was pleasantly surprised. I know that's not typical of his work this volume at least was good.

Millar was pretty good when he begun, but his shtick got very old very fast. Though to be fair, that seemingly happens to most comic writers.

Maddie's new attire works for me here as opposed to other depictions I've seen before. The crown is still ridiculously over the top... but I guess that might be the point.
I feel like I've seen this design before (at least with the scythe).

Also the lack of underboob is disappointing.

NO, don't say that, encourage Marvel instead... to up the damn ante! I can't believe they let this happen, I'm pissed.

I'm SO DISAPPOINTED, and MAD, that I couldn't decide which one... so just used them all.

Same. I got The Magic Order just for Coipel's art. Let's just say when I saw that a sequel was out and Coipel was not on art duties, I decided I didn't need it
