I’m sorry, but that cover is the definition of quantity over quality. Not feeling it at all.
And the character placements don’t make much sense either.

Agreed. It's too messy and chaotic.

I don't agree, it's pretty amazing and a feat of work, effort, and knowledge. There are some deep cuts as well. They have the people Proteus possessed in there... that's detail!

Where's the crystal version of Jean? I can't spot it.

Surprised Rachel is only on there once.

I agree, it's really weird that they've thrown in random modern characters like the Deadly Genesis team. It ruins the vibes for me.

Thane is Thanos' son that debuted during Hickman's Infinity event during his run on Avengers & New Avengers.
The Avengers are Firefighters. We're the ones who fly into the blaze, whatever it is. Because we're the ones who
can, so we're the ones who have to.~Captain Marvel

    Bottom right near Outback Betsy

It doesnt feel like a celebration of the 80s to me. From left to right, it goes 60s, 70s, 80s and a small bit of the 90s for the most part. The 00s are largely ignored outside of the Phoenix Five and Deadly Genesis which have been retconned to have been around much earlier than when we were introduced to them

Someone said there is another cover so it'll likely be more representative of the later stuff

I guess it's not the whole set, since it covers only 30 years of X-history and not 60.

Poor Catseye, away from her friends, between an X-baby and a freaking Warwolf.
When did Tigra interact with the X-Men? The FF or Spider-Man, I get it, they had many team-ups, but I can't remember Tigra making signifiant appearances in X-books..

Wow this deserves a standing ovation for the sheer ambition of it. It has so many goodies and Easter eggs I can't even begin a list.

I know right?! Did we need that many Sentinels and who thought it was necessary to put the minister facade that Mastermind used expressly two times and never any other time forty years ago? I am a fan of the kooky Silver Age X-Men, but we did not need to see all those random bad guys.

The artist, Scott Koblish, said there will be a second half, probably including X-Force, Generation X, New X-Men and so on.

Personnally, I love those kind of covers, reminding how rich the comics history is and how many character are forgotten.
He did the same with the Fantastic Four.

Has Koblish posted a numbering of all the characters in it? There’s some great deep pull characters in there. Are Amanda Sefton and Lee Forester in there? Can’t find those iconic Claremont dames!
Emma Frost, Rogue, Felicia Hardy, Helena Bertinelli, Allison Blaire, Barbara Gordon, Monica Rambeau, Carol Danvers, Illyana Rasputin, Ororo Munroe, Harleen Quinzel, Lorna Dane, Irene Adler, Kate Kane, Rachel Grey Summers, Jean Grey, Diana Prince, Barbara Ann Minerva, Donna Troy, Jennifer Walters, Gwen Stacy, Wanda Maximoff = PERFECTION!

I had the same problem. X-Baby Outback Betsy on the bottom right corner has the crystal by her.
