It was claimed that 2023 was going to be a big year for Kate and boy was it. Not in the ways many imagined but in many of the ways that mattered. Hopefully 2024 also leads to many great things for Pryde and other stories and character aspects(look above) get actually explored and followed up on (it's been nearly 4 years now!!!!).

Hoping that the Shadowkat persona survives the Krakoan reboot, but am not getting my hopes up. So often when there's a board-clearing, developments from the previous regime don't make the cut. I was happy to see Sgt Pepper Kate finally go by the wayside, tho'. She'd outlived her usefulness.

I would love the new design 100% more if she still had the Kurls, like in Dauterman's version or at least Cornillon's (I think it's his drawing in the first post).

I wonder if/how they plan to revert Kate back to Kitty in the next era. I liked her more ruthless depiction by Duggan, as I felt it fit with her Claremont evolution, and I liked the leadership she was showing in Orlando's Marauders.

Perhaps if we are not keeping KATE, we need not revert to KITTY (humor me) and we can have KAT.

Still wondering if we are meant to think that Kate used a ninja death punch to get this Orchis guy's heart our or if she used her phasing in lethal manner as she had in the rest of the brutal sequence showing her Bloody Red Queen Hellfire Aftermath. It seems her physical violence is escalating given how she breaks the next guy's neck so she may have gotten the urge to get her hands dirty, literally. Tye blood splatter on both sides of the entry/exit seem to support punch.

I feel like Duggan was the one mostly pushing for "Kate," and I feel like depending on the status of the X-Men afterwards there might not be a place for that.

Yeah I think they're going for a more "classic superhero" thing I guess. Violent emancipated Kate will probably have no place there.
I liked the direction Orlando took her better anyways. Less needlessly violent, but still ruthless when it's personal.
