I am thinking his devolution is more Neanderthal than caveman, at least based on that single image.
They didn't say they weren't. They said African wasn't a race. It's also pretty well known that Apocalypse has used mutliple host bodies over the years since he isn't immortal. Not all of those bodies would have been Egyptian, ancient or otherwise.
"Scholars reject the notion, implicit in the notion of a black or white Egypt hypothesis, that Ancient Egypt was racially homogeneous; instead, skin color varied between the peoples of Lower Egypt, Upper Egypt, and Nubia, who in various eras rose to power in Ancient Egypt. "

SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!!!
My point, which I could have elaborated on more, was that regardless of the close affinity to southern European Neanderthals/homo sapiens that ancient Egyptians had, they were much darker in complexion as Africans of that time period had a variety of different physical attributes and would not have appeared this light in complexion.
That said I get that potential the last body he inhabited might be more Caucausian hence this appearance. I was just concerned about the continued pigment bleaching Marvel does to it's characters of color.
Then say that. Your other post came off as ignorant & argumentative this one is far more thought out and produces a discussion that's delightfully civil.
Marvel needs diversity in it's leadership. You can have all the colors of the wind as artists and writers, but most (all?) of the management of the company are old white men.
Apocalypse gave up his original body long ago. Ever stop to think he's devolving into the body of his most recent host? How is he going to turn back into an Egyptian body when his host body isn't Egyptian?
Edit: Nevermind I see you brought that topic up further down
Well the cyclops image is uncanny 11. Wonder what that means
