That might be it. They look too much like digital dolls. Not saying she's a bad artist per se, but she's someone I really wouldn't like drawing the main books or even the elusive Storm one.

Rofl. I wonder if anyone has enough guts to give The Rob full writing and credits to boot on this "less restricted" big event.

She's a pretty strong colorist, but I'm not in love with her cover either. And I don't think she does a definitive Storm.

The Liefeld cover is...decent. I don't know if it's because Liefeld has gotten better or the art at Marvel has gotten worse. Maybe it's a little bit of both imho.

And the late, great Dave Cockrum.

X-23 and Jubilee are in the final stages of Youngbloods Disease.
DC, please give Jonah Hex a new solo.

Somehow I agree with you. I've never been a fan of Liefeld's work, but this isn't so bad, all things considered.

Storm looks nice except for Bishop holding her hostage with that gun pointed at her head, and Bishop looks nice except for that hair behind his head.
Jean is wearing WTFever Shatterstar wears on his head.

Her colors are great, indeed, and recent years have shown how much of a difference that makes in the final product, now that we have easier access to the line work.

I don’t buy it. I count exactly zero pouches in that image.

i thought it was an aleatory set of x-men for the #1 cover but now after the alternative covers I’m kinda convinced that this is the ultimate UXM roster. I don’t know if I like it. It’s rather aleatory

I don’t see how this is either random or risky. These are all veteran characters.

    Exactly this.

But yes, this cover is almost at the level of Sal Buscema's last art.
